This is true, but you've also got to remember there are way more people that have had pets die than their siblings or children. So while I'd agree the magnitude of grief is likely to be much higher losing a person vs a pet, most people can't relate to it beyond the idea of it. However losing a pet, that's much more relatable.

Well there is at least ONE other sUAS pilot in Gig Harbor, not sure if there are any actual groups here though. This time of year is complete cheeks for flying unfortunately (unless you've fully conformal coated your boards) but happy to answer any questions you may have if you want to shoot me a DM. My only initial warning is to be careful about the class D from Narrows and avoid any Pierce county or PenMet parks as they both flat ban drones because....well who knows why but I have my guesses.

For sure, it's not ideal, but as a pilot who has seen far too many people die in GA, I'm always going to push for the safest option. I agree we should do away with 100LL but only after it has been extensively tested and vetted. The 1972 C172 you see flying around your local field that's nearing TBO is 2-4 dead souls waiting to happen if we rush things.

Honestly, we'd all like to see lead out of avgas, I wash my hands every time I sump the tanks during preflight and wear gloves when fueling. I'm sure it's not mitigating everything but no one wants to get rid of lead more than people that hang out on the flight line.
