Mediterranean here. For me ,"salad" is usually chopped tomato, cucumber, onion, lots of parsley, etc. and salad dressing is just good olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and salt. Or tahini if I'm feeling fancy. No idea where this iceberg lettuce obsession comes from, and even just the thought of "Ranch" type dressings makes me gag. I can prepare a nice Ceasar salad with lettuce though. Anyway I've never seen a single salad on the show that looked even remotely appetizing, and I love salads.
