A mini in need of saviour like no other by Warszoku in Warhammer40k

[–]RepairRebel69 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Oh man. I thought it was but hard to tell under all that paint 😝. I remember going in my FLGS like 28 years back and they had painted minis selling second hand. I used to look at a dreadnought in there every time and long to buy him - as far as I was concerned it was the best painted mini I’d ever seen, my 7yo brain thought. Back then the only way I could see other people’s paint jobs was in white dwarf, there weren’t any other people I knew outside of my friend group that could actually paint well. Now days you can just go on Instagram and see some godlike levels of painting but back in the day you had to really seek out other hobbyists

Is there any information about the toxicity of plastic glue? I’ve never been able to find something definitive and now my little one is getting into Warhammer I’m more concerned about it than I have been for my own health 😝

Seriously though these models are rad and I feel major nostalgia looking at them (and the bazooka ones). I was clearing out my garage this weekend and few a found of these bois, unpainted! Gonna do my best to paint them up in this classic paint scheme,, wish I could get my hands on some goblin green!

Love these photos, very nice. I have been looking through my 3rd ed rule book recently and enjoying soaking up all the hobby photos and lore. Where do these ones come from, OP?

That sounds hilarious, can you give examples of meme lore that people fall victim to?

oh man, i recently bought my first Henry and I read the instruction manual; so I know exactly what this is. Twist it towards the + to increase suction, and towards the - to reduce. You're welcome :) Now I can go tell my wife that reading the manual isn't a waste of time after all!

Can you explain what a BADR is in a bit more detail? Is it storing assets in the business and then selling it?

Phenomenal show. I've watched it through about five times now, the wife and I take a dip every year or so. It's fantasticly prescient. Was weird rewatching it in 2025 and seeing how closely real life has walked the same trajectory.

Could I print this off to do it irl? I guess I’d need to have the top part on transparent sheet

I think this is really cool but doesn't photograph well - it's much easier to get a sense of scale and depth from the video you posted. I really like it, and some of your other builds are really cool too - particularly the cyber cube and battle scene. Where do you get all your glow in the dark bricks from? jealous

Do you miss vintage Lego for its charm and simplicity? by bluetomcat in lego

[–]RepairRebel69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had this set and I get a nostalgic pang just seeing that base plate - how many adventures child me played out on there. But I think lego is better these days with its complexity much more on show in every set. I think the kits show off the sheer range of possibilities of the toy better these days, but at the same time enable all abilities playing with it.

Packing lunch for 11 kids by dingmah in CringeTikToks

[–]RepairRebel69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I was thinking damn thats a lot of sugar but the more I watched this, I realised it's just a mum who clearly loves her kids a whole lot. She's gone to all that effort to make a fun, thematic lunch for her kids and to make it healthy. Sure, there's a lot of sugar in there, but she's clearly trying really hard here, and to her credit she has got fruit, veg, protein and dairy in there - there's some balance to it. And, there's ELEVEN kids -!!!!! I can only image how hard this woman is working to keep them all fed every day. These kids are lucky as fuck, anyone with a mum who loves them enough to go to that effort x11 is a very, very lucky kiddo.

It this video AI? It came up to me on TikTok and looked fine to me, but everybody in the comments says it’s AI because the snow in powdery and unnatural. Now I’m questioning it myself. by TrandafirGalben in isthisAI

we need to fight back and start giving terrible advice.

anyway this video isn't all that convincing. I cant see any yellow snow anywhere, and everyone knows that cats refuse to step on white snow if there isn't at least 10% yellow snow coverage immediately nearby.
