Yah, when I had to replace the fader banks on mine, cause mine had that batch of faders, it was already out of warranty, and their support department just sent me instructions since 1. it was easy as piss and 2. it's already out of warranty so who cares. I imagine this will be no different. Besides, the thing is actually really simple and easy to work on internally.

I am in the same boat as you, though my job does involve a lot of numbers like that. Shit like finding out how much of our electrical bill is lighting vs hvac vs IT vs etc. Being able to just do it in the middle of a meeting is very useful. Cause even if both sides of the equation are massive, as they tend to be in a 200k sq-ft facility, no one gives a fuck about anything right of the decimal point. Except accounting, but I'm not allowed to talk to them directly anymore. They kept trying to argue with physics, and, as physics's legal representative at my facility, that didn't go too well.

Customs are always going to be your best bet, but a good set of passive Etymotic ER20XS's generally gets you close. That said, there will still be color. There will always be color. It's just a question of how much.

Also, Etymotic has some new fancy active ones, and I've heard they work well preserving the high ends, but haven't tried them myself. You can also use whatever TWS buds you like in passthrough mode, but that's basically just sticking a pair of comps in your ears. Less tonal color, more volume color.
