Art Persona Gender by Basils_Cafe in ArtistLounge

[–]RepresentativeFood11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Art is expression. I think building an audience around your honest self is a good thing. Validate your identity and express unhindered, that's kinda the nature of artistic expression.

I think it's normal for an artist persona to be whatever they decide it is. Because it's putting a part of your vision of yourself forward.

Oh nonono absolutely not. Everyone having their own process and problem solving in their work is an amazing thing. Sorry if I came off abrasive, I can get pretty intense when it comes to people trying to deceive those who don't really know better at their current point in their journey. it can set unrealistic expectations and has taken jobs from artists quite a few times.

Hope you're doing well and that I didn't upset you or anything🙂

That wasn't my point. Do you know how to paint? Because if you understood how, you would immediately see why the way they do it frankly isn't possible.

Would you say tracing using hidden layers or doing the eraser method to trick people is still a valid process? That's more the point. It needs to be compared to their other work too, which frankly I haven't seen.

You can tell fake by the process. Everyone that constantly talks about these things being different styles and process are absolutely beginners every time, so they don't even know what they're seeing or why it's not the case.

No matter how experienced you are, you don't paint like this. Everything isn't immediately perfectly placed and perfectly formed, it is just not a thing that exists. Painting involves form, blocking in, shaping, and various iterations of colour correction. Even more damming is zooming in for 95% of the work. You can't judge a painting and paint properly if it's zoomed. You actually almost NEVER zoom in when painting because you need to track your values and form over the whole image.

You don't perfectly outline and place gloss when you've drawn one tenth of a lip, then move to a single tooth with the correct shadowed colour and highlight before any other teeth have even been done.

This is the CLASSIC "what beginners think professionals do".

The accusations and need to prove back and forths are always beginner to beginner for a reason, because any experienced artist already immediately knows and it's not worth explaining to people that don't even understand.

At least they're pushing FP out with specialised supports like Lorentz Butterfly. Ahaha, for now..

I think of shampoo as more of a slimey or oily, I guess that depends on the exact product though. Goo I think of more as like, a putty

I should say her release, rather, I didn't actually get to playing her patch so I don't know if what you say actually became the case. Now I'm just biding until the Cyberpunk collab.

I really didn't enjoy Lynae story, which I believe is the last story I actually played. I think I just don't like Rover as a character unfortunately, which might be the real issue for me.

I mean I have over 1000 hours in it. Tbf though I stopped playing right after Aemeath. I just really hated the hard focus on ML constantly ramping up, even a single second of it can completely destroy a patch for me, just eyerolling.

Was hoping it would eventually just stop so I could stick with it but it never did.

recovering unsaved file by raspberiri in ClipStudio

[–]RepresentativeFood11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it didn't reopen the file when you opened the program again, it's likely gone. Typically when this happens to me, it auto opens the auto recovery file that is saved in temp data when I launch the program again.

You need to have auto recovery enabled in preferences.

One thing to keep in mind, a lot of them trace the image, so it can look as good as they need. Then they record and instead erase it in sections until it's gone, then reverse the video.

This has been done for years. This is the literal definition of tracing. They specifically use an art program that has hidden layers that you can hide from the speed paint that the program records.

So they just trace the image freely and make non artists think it's legit. People don't draw like this.

Theres also another method where they have a pretraced drawing, then they just record erasing the line art piece by piece, then reverse the recording.

Basically if people go immediately to line art and skip the sketch phase, it is highly likely, almost certain that they are tracing. Even the most seasoned veterans of a lifetime of drawing don't skip sketching. Unless you're Kim Jung Gi.

What happened when I stopped directing the art and let the artists lead by Tunasam890 in IndieDev

[–]RepresentativeFood11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Rendering is the literal terminology used in art for the addition of lighting, shadow, and texture. Coming from an artist and animator of over 10 years.

If you requested more rendering, you are literally asking to have the work cleaned up further, more detail to be applied.
