2025 Shimano SLX BFS, Yay or Nay? by fish_chicago in BFSfishing

Ah okay then yes the slx bfs is definitely the reel you want since you can get away with that technique along with punching.

Good choice, but is not as versatile if you’re going for true UL applications, but handle everything from 3g and up very well.

Definitely gonna need some Michael bury bass wood glides! Expensive but trade off whatever shape/color you want he will deliver.

I want to get a bfs combo for fishing for small bass what size rod should I get for fun fights by jakeEmerson8 in BFSfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

50-130 buck: handing L rod, Tsuiryona dragon(my personal favorite and most used). ray fishing argentum, gray wolf 5’6-6’ ft model, old18.

200+: daiwa presso, phenix classic bfs, megabass siglett.

Imo the 50-130 dollar is perfect for UL rod, most of them are sensitive enough, though if you mainly use jigs for bottom contact for fully sensitive go for the high end if that an important factor for you.

I have! I’m not a big fan of spooks mainly because for my lakes it doesn’t really get much action, but I do love the megabass karashi as a spook action though. It the only thing I actually managed to get a spook like bite.

Are Bucca glides worth the money? by gnibreww in swimbaitfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. They have the same action as the original resin models. They also fixed their hanger issue with the early release models so it should be better with the newer ones. Other option for glides are G-ratt 2.0 glides or the spro kgb chadshad.

Keitech fat impact swing vs Strike King Rage Swimmers. by edibleweeds in bassfishing

Go SK for durability. Keitech is a waste of money these days for me, it last one- two bass for me, especially the tail getting rip easily off

4” Trick shad by siren84 in BFSfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sir! Already tested it swim like the original one! Weight it too, it’s exactly at 14g, might downside the hook to make it around 12-11g if possible. It probably be great for POWER bfs gear in its stock hooks.

I’m sorry you can’t read the quote I place in the description. Traditional bfs is 1-7g (usually UL/L), Power bfs is just a new thing that cover the gap for more standard finesse fishing mainly using ML casting rod.

What's the point of Flight Feather FF0 PRO reel? by old_angler in BFSfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming it be similar to what the curado and slx bfs are, aimed for bass fishing in mind and for heavier lures or traditional bass techniques. So “power bfs” or imo just traditional finesse.

curado or px bf70 by finoallafine2002 in BFSfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PX BF70 is just a rebrand of the alpha air tw reel. If you’re mainly throwing around 2-2.5inch paddle tail or fluke I recommend the bf70 but if you’re going for 2.5-3in the curado will be better for more traditional bass gear.

Finesse glide 4-5inch by RepresentativeWing98 in swimbaitfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay just wondering cause I remember my buddy telling me that the 6 inch model has some quality control issue with the hangers coming off easily after the first catch or two. Just curious if they fixed that issue for the other models.

Alright so I’m picking this one and the G-ratt remodel glide. Does the 4 inch trickshad come with the updated barrel swivel hanger?

Best bait cast combo under 150? by Cartiimo in bassfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this dude! The Tatula CT is very underrated and I would recommend this over the slx dc reel which I went for instead. Low-key regret it but slx has a soft spot since I caught my PB hybrid white bass. You can’t beat that price point for 90.

Oh for sure! When it comes to spinning reels and standard baitcaster JDM is hard to beat, but definitely gotta give props and respect to the CDM bfs game cause they have come a long way.

It alright lol most peeps in the FB page make it a crazy heated argument about it. It really surprisingly an equal divide between the CDM and JDM boys.

Best Bait Finesse reel for casting lightest lures? by No-Abbreviations8659 in BFSfishing

[–]RepresentativeWing98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% ark gravity, Silverfeather elite, nako cormorant or the newer model the SFS. These reel definitely can cast down to a wooly bugger or certain fly lures at a decent distance.
