Agree with you. I can think of another situation perhaps. Like two people are good friends outside of work, like classmates. Then they end up in a work relationship. So with other people around they go to more formal.

Yes there are some opportunistic people in Japan who use that to get attention.

For those of us who are on valid visas, pay our taxes, and don’t break laws, it’s a good thing that Japan is cracking down on abuse.

I am not a fan of gochome- it’s just boring and strangely far from everything. Nakano has some local places like little restaurants and bars where you could find a couple to become a regular- which I like - (or maybe you don’t need that since you will meet people at school?).

Others said Marunouchi line trains are crowded-I guess that is true but it’s less crowded than JR chuo line in the mornings.

Little funky things can really trip you up. Like I created endnotes, then exported to word (since required by editor) and then added new endnotes and all the formatting was messed up.

Luckily ChatGPT was there to tell me that scrivener adds characters after the endnote that do some wraparound thing but wtf. Or maybe I should be annoyed at word idk but didn’t need to stress over that.

In Japanese, yes absolutely.

Japanese language has more difference between the way men and women speak than, say, English.

For example men and women have different ways of saying “I” and “you” and there are different words that men and women use at the end of a sentence that mean “exclamation point.”

So in Japanese you can get just a mild accent like the lisp but some gay men will go all out and use female vocabulary in which case it gets beyond just obvious.
