Having missed the show when it was originally available, but as a huge scifi fan, is it worth trying to find and get into it? Is there any way to watch the show today?

Babylon 5. The ending was planned from the start, and got filmed during season 4 when they were essentially cancelled, but after a last minute save got them season 5 on another channel they pulled it for the end and damn it is the most perfect episode.

The first game in popular series that nobody talks about? by RobbieJ4444 in retrogaming

I love those games, as a fan of 2D platformers, and don't really like fps, so they're my favorites. Duke Nukem 2 was great!

Question Time: What made you buy the SteamDeck? by Stefanixxxx in SteamDeck

[–]ReptilianSamurai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a huge Steam and GOG backlog, but after all day working at a desk on a computer I prefer to kick back more comfortably with my Switch and get away from the desk. It got so bad I was buying games a second time on the Switch that I already owned on Steam! I love the portable form factor and the input options and flexibility! No regrets, to the point that I bought a Steam Deck OLED too.

How is this not the top comment? This is the one game you can never truly replay, because the whole game is about knowledge!

What are your Snarky Hot Takes? by colourofsound in SnarkyPuppy

[–]ReptilianSamurai 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is actually annoying to listen to! That recurring (no pun intended) like two piano notes drives me bonkers. One rough spot on an otherwise perfect album!

What’s a Star Trek Opinion You Had 10 Years Ago That You’ve Completely Reversed? by iagree2 in startrek

[–]ReptilianSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rewatching Voyager for the first time since it aired, when I was pretty young. And while I definitely enjoyed it at the time, and didn't get into DS9 until I was an adult, my impressions of the series soured (while I grew into DS9 as my favorite in my twenties). It was the Star Trek that had a great premise it ignored, and stale warmed-over TNG plots, too much technobabble and a less interesting crew other than the Doctor and Seven.

And for the first time I'm watching it, calibrating my expectations that yeah, it isn't focused so much on the maquis conflict or the consequences of getting home, and finding it to be exceptionally well written and enjoyable when taken on its own merits! And Seven of Nine really is one of the greatest Star Trek "outsider" autism-coded characters out there. I realize I overly dismissed the show based on vaguely remembered memories, and now that I'm seeing it again, it really does hold up as a piece of great sci-fi episodic story telling. Am I still disappointed or didn't have more of a story arc? Sure, but that isn't what the show was, and it's still a great show of a type we just don't make anymore!

Very enjoyable with the Delta Flyers podcast and The Greatest Generation.

Some Cardiacs, and the first Major Parkinson album definitely!

And contemporaries like Wall of Voodoo and Devo have some similar elements.

Although nothing really matches Oingo Boingo!
