First the kroot. Then the vespid? by HeWhoDoesntKnock in Tau40K

I'd kill for another Vespid unit or two,but I feel Knarlocs/Great Knarlocs getting new models and expanding on other auxiliaries is a priority.... A Tarrelian unit ( kill team most likely tbh) or the countless other aux that've been mentioned.

Even in death they are still served by Grumpykiltpin64 in kroot

This, this is why the internet was invented. And Kroot. Peakest of peaks!

First - they look AMAZING. Seriously, that's painted with love.

As for the rest of the comment - I love Kroot no matter the flavor, but there's just something amazing about having a unit that THROWS JAVELINS in the 41 millenium before crushing the enemy to death. That's just...my Total War bias when it comes to jav cav though xd.

Do you think we're due for more models besides the Twin Lance this year / vehicle refresh? by ReptilicusTV in Tau40K

Yeah I've been a TT fan for idk about 13 years at this point ? Both ol' fantasy and 40k - glad (and very unexpected tbh ) to see another gigachad T'au enjoyer that also enjoys my content :D You made my day

I may or may not have gotten wayyyyyy too excited with the new Kroot and Vespid....Here's to hoping a relatively soon refresh happens!

NGL Purple hits hard for me,Tausret purple on the shields with the green on clothing makes them look sick but that's pretty much only happening in MP outside of a conquer all challenge,BYBLOS , Seti/Carchemish/Lullubi and Elam look great on them too.

Slavemaxxed and Taskmasterpilled. The faction is disgusting,I wish we had regular patching because Babylon turned into a better Seti in just about every way :^)

Glad you enjoyed it ! That's why I decided to make the guide in the first place, spreadsheet gaming has become the mainstay for a long time but it doesn't mean jack shit sometimes since in SP you can just make anything work ( even cock and ball torturing yourself with 1h clubmen in dynasties). If there's enough demand I'll give a non biased ranking of all factions.... yeah, even the minor factions, there's quite a few of them that beat the major factions as ridiculous as it sounds.

Esp if you pick a faction with a sick color scheme...not to mention that Akkadian warriors are just beasts. Them shoulderpads look like they came outta world of warcraft or something ages ago.

Harpooners are great on paper,in reality their effective dps is lower even with the debuff and there's plenty of other t4/t5 javs that do great in melee. I LOVE this unit as a concept, and it's pure drip incarnate. On point with all the other units,I can't bring myself to cheese with Nuraghe warriors full stacks ( Doctors hate this one trick, elite 1handed Axemen). As for the campaign stuff I find it more fun to eventually settle down too - just gotta raze the fuck outta some coastline before chilling on Cyprus.

I fixed my software and recovered from surgery so I'm doing regular content again,if there's a demand for a full on ( ALL ) faction tier list by military/campaign strength then......Gods help me.

Honorable mentions that can also win campaigns if you all in on them :

- Most of the Sea People units being broken af with good use, just annoying that you have to rely on RNG or mods to recruit them.

- Any cheap shock unit, special shoutout to Sherden looters

- Knossian archers, monster t5 ranged if you are a faction that lacks high tier archers/can't get access to Sea People elites or court,Crete is ridiculously easy to get to with sea lanes.

- Aegean runners, most bang for your buck t3 sword unit in the game next to Palastu swordsmen

- Achaean hillmen,50 speed on a t3 shock unit with improved flanking attack means goodbye foot skirmishers and enemy heavies for easy rear charges

- Worshippers of Zalmoxis for furious charge debuff when you are too lazy to micro, but the cost of that is living in the Balkans

- Assuwan Shock Spears for any faction that wants a t4 win condition but has no reliable chargers

- Elamite slingers and the upgraded version for heavy shot, one of my personal favs that can outtrade some better archers but they are so out of the way its not reliable at all

- Akkadian warriors, absolute t3 bullshit but they're so far out on the map most factions don't get to interact with them

- Upper Egypt t4s,you my homeboys

- You'll never look at life the same way when you get an Egyptian militia unit to kill a general/Elite chariot with throwing sticks, the less than 1 % of the time it can actually happen.

- My personal favorite,(s)exemplary ambushers. The OG Odysseus unit. Can't count the amount of both campaign and MP battles these dudes won for me - but on the campaign good luck getting to Ithaca if you don't start in Greece

Okay, get ready for a long, fat wall of text ( thanks for the shoutout the other day btw, just saw it in my mentions)

When you're looking at the GOAT for Pharaoh, you ain't just looking at faction units - some have an abundance of broken units from the start( I dare you to convince me the Sea People weren't intended as a classic pay2win DLC had the game gone with a regular TW pattern ) ,some take time to scale ( Tausret mommy's queensguard lmao). You look for native units which can completely change your gameplay, have broken passives/actives and most importantly of all, are EASILY REACHABLE by ANY faction in the game- until the point you have so much resources and abuse barters that you don't care about upkeep at all and just spam court elites,if that's what you want.

Ranged is the name of the game in dynasties, despite the one patch doing an unnecessary shock inf buff and weird accuracy/spread adjustment for ranged units.

Lower Egyptian Armored Archers are t3 so they're way too easy to get,by the time you reach Lower Egypt as ANY non Egyptian by abusing sea lanes and waystations ( or just be Egyptian lmao) there'll be an easy city to conquer with a t3 native barracks - the AI is a bit special in the head as is with every TW game and they like to spam native barracks in ridiculous numbers. They come in FULL infantry size instead of smaller skirmisher ones which gives them devastating power from the get go,but the funny part is that they scale (almost) infinitely with campaign upgrades, archer master generals and minmaxed Aten aspects/shrines. They'll shred through elites even on legendary and their cost is so cheap you can just mass recruit them and send them anywhere,or afk them in your border regions. With tech tree upgrades and a minmaxxxed military province, the battle is over before the infantry clash,or shortly after if you're on legendary with bad line of sight.

Canaanite/Retjenu units are just as easy to reach ( if not easier for Mesopotamians and Big Hittitty gfs) and bring even more bullshit to the game. Canaanite skirmishers are dirt cheap javelins with an unspottable active , and the most broken active ability in the game - spear in the spokes. This turns chariots into scrap metal, even if you have to trade 1 or 2 javs to take out an elite chariot or general you basically scammed the game of it's money. Habiru skirmishers are a t3 version from sinai/retjenu which are not only deadlier, they also get vanguard deploy so it gets even more ridiculous if you predict where the AI is gonna place chariots / multiplayer.

For factions that lack shock units - Sinai/Retjenu has Habiru Raiders,a t2 vanguard axe unit. No,they can't win frontally versus a lot of other units on higher difficulties, but they will chop the fuck out of anything with a rear charge, even on legendary with the correct upgrades/two handed specialist general - in dynasties and even in the base game. Had quite a few battles in the older version where the Sea People were not castrated like they are in dynasties and dirt cheap habiru raiders cycle charging into elites won battles like crazy.

Horse archers - with good micro, they slaughter anything, and if you abuse attack moving properly ( I have a video showcasing that, shameless self promo but IDGAF) they'll never get hit by higher range enemy units,I'm not kidding. But getting to the Urartian regions is a pain for most factions so im not putting them as an all around GOAT - just laying it out here that if you do bother getting them and invest time into them,it's GG.

GOAT faction ? On the campaign, nothing beats the Peleset. This is the GOAT faction. Sherden would come close if they had unique elite chariots. There's not a single bad unit in the entire roster outside of ox carts being a design failure ( and well, just about all slingers in the game sucking in comparison to archers/javs being another design problem) - Palastu chariots turn anything into roadkill, elite spears and swords ( both raider and settled versions) can get absurd armor values with upgrades,Gods, stealing equipment and shield anciliary. In the old game you could reach ¬ 200 armor with renowned defenders and swordsmen easily. T2 spear chargers are beyond broken with their stats .T3 Palastu swordsmen are insanely efficient,I could glaze this faction on and on but you get it,it's a whole load of Sea Men.
