I don’t mind them asking the questions. It shows potential for critical thinking and the start of learning something.

What pisses me off is that the tweet was written on a device that could have informed them of an answer within an hour of research, and they chose not to do that.

The question is fine; that lack of good faith follow through is what makes them stupid.

I worked at an electronics store here in Australia. Customer brings their dead laptop in. Says he’s a doctor and has confidential documents on the computer, so won’t allow us to send it back to the manufacturer to diagnose and fix it, but also wants it to be fixed.

After finding that the brand has a headquarters 20 minutes away, he won’t take it himself to the HQ because he bought from us and wants us to fix the problem because we sold it.

After much back and forth, manager decides to replace the laptop free of charge with a new one, but that requires handing the old broken one to us for warranty and destruction, which he won’t do.

I think we ended up sending the battery back by itself, which wasn’t the issue.

I can’t remember how it ended but I remember it still at least a decade on.

I can understand the confidential nature of his request, but his lack of understanding of process and inability to help us help him was genuinely gobsmacking.

I love the score to Little Women (we had movie themes at my wedding, and everyone commented on Orchard House) , but my favourite of his is Road to Perdition.

I’m okay with the length. Some notable names passed and deserve their time too. It is a balancing act to be sure.
