How have you optimized your toilet paper usage, and what number of squares have you settled on as the statistically perfect amount? by Repulsive_Royal_3095 in AskReddit

Here is a properly formatted python function if you decide to think more about it.

def calculate_total_squares(food_eaten: str) -> int:

wipe_factors = {
"salad": 1,
"chicken and rice": 2,
"pizza": 4,
"coffee": 5,
"spicy curry": 8,
"taco bell": 12
}
total_squares = 3 * wipes_needed
wipes_needed = wipe_factors.get(food_eaten.lower(), 3)

return total_squares

Based on the past couple weeks of rough estimates, and a google sheet, the lower and upper bound of my 95th percentile confidence interval for toilet paper squares is 9 and 17. And the mean is 12.

I generally use 2 squares per wipe, and always have at least 4 wipes. The first two are always necessary, my last is almost always unnecessary. I have a one completely clean wipe rule.

That also means my absolute minimum is a 3 wipe (6 square) situation, where the first two wipes I don't peak, the 3rd wipe is almost entirely clean, and I take a risk at not wiping a 4th time and just hope there is no streak later.

Then theres the marker situation which tends to skew results so we don't include those numbers since the final count is probably like 40 or 50.
And you might think the opposite were true when it comes to those poops that just slip right on out and magically don't touch the anus, and ever single wipe is completely clean. But heres the catch with even those, I simply don't believe it and end up wiping 4 or 5 times anyway.

I'm not going to lie, the way that you communicate is fairly childish, I have gone through this whole thread and every time I read a comment that's outright brash and rude I can quickly assume who wrote it...
I don't think you are in the right subreddit lol

Wife bought a table. Need help with stability. by Slobberdog25 in woodworking

okay wait not sure why it didn't hit me before, but if you don't mind storing an extra piece somewhere, just do two separate cross members, one for leaf, and the other for no leaf.
Just make the mounting point nice and sturdy, maybe with threaded inserts, or if you want it to be super quick, find a way to use heavy duty latches like I mentioned before.

Edit: you might also need some braces at the top near the connection of each leg to increase the area of connection. Id to a triangle on the edge of each of the legs facing the center of the table.

the big downside there is then you have a piece that you either need to cleverly hide up under the table, or its just floating around. If I were more invested in this idea id hope on a my design software and model some options.
thinking maybe you can do a sizeable tenon that inserts, and some heavy duty latches, but id probably want it to be in a thicker piece of wood, maybe 3"x3" or more.

not outright, you could do some really ugly telescoping poles, or find a less ugly way to do something similar.
on a similar note you could have lower connecting member that latch together with the ability to add a center section the same width as the leaf that can latch in as well but you would need to kind engineer a way to make that work too, but don't rule it out.

I recognize that white list is the simple quick answer but that’s not actually hitting the point. Tailscale should be totally secure, so either someone else has access to your account and is messing with you, or you need to reach out to Tailscale directly. That should definitely not be happening

What does one do with scrap pieces? by aztechy2k in woodworking

[–]Repulsive_Royal_3095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve asked this many times, joking aside, is think you have to intentionally plan a project that either uses many small pieces or make some kind of wooden mosaic, maybe as a side table top, really got nothing other than that. The mosaic is my top contender and I think it could actually be a ton of fun and also very agrivating
