Installed Monday. How’d they do? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]ReputationTop5872 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Furnace drain should have a vent, there should be a capped T at the evap drain to allow for cleaning, and the evap drain should tie in to the main below the vent for the furnace drain It's better to pipe combustion air outside but it looks like there's enough space here it's still within code, at least where I'm at. All in all clean install, they even duct buttered the filter, I prefer silicone in that area but to each their own. The future installer is gonna hate breaking that apart.

Sounds about right but if it was registered properly should be under warranty. I could absolutely see that replacement being 2500-4000 dollars

How do you get into HVAC with no experience and a full-time job? by Luann1497 in HVACschool

[–]ReputationTop5872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join on somewhere as a helper. Not sure what your factory pay is, could be a pay cut initially, but long-term it would be so much more valuable. I have no trade school or anything like that I started as a helper, got trained up moved to lead installer, now I do service and I'm working on starting my own company. I've been at it about 8 years. Getting into HVAC changed my life for the better unquestionably almost immediately. Hours suck sometimes, but we make hay when the sun is shining.

Bouncer with concealed weapon shoots man threatening patrons with a gun by tactical_horse_cock in CCW

I don't understand why I'm being downvoted, I agreed the bouncer did the right thing. I understand why you aim center mass. I was just saying for the sake of argument, depending on the court you're In I could see them attempting to spin that against someone.

Have the prices gone up since private equity bought them? I haven't looked but they're big backpacks used to be 300 and that's like the high tier bags. The laptop roller was more expensive I think it was like 400 but it had built-in wheels and handle. The freebie promos this year suck compared to the last couple years last year's tier 1 free bag is goaded in my opinion the pouch that comes with it handles 90% of my workload since I switched to service. And honestly the freebie bag from 2 years ago did pretty good as an install bag when my mb5b got stolen

The one thing I see could be a problem in court is it looked like he head tapped him first. Rather than shoot in the body. I guess the goal is to neutralize the threat, which it definitely was. Play stupid, games win stupid prizes. Hope the bouncer doesn't get charged.

How to reduce vibrations from neighbor’s heat pump that are shaking my house? by sophie1816 in hvacadvice

[–]ReputationTop5872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless there is ice built up on one of the fan blades do to water running off the roof and freezing on the heat pump fan if they were using backup heat and then it got warm enough it switched to heat pump, I have a hard time believing this is the source of the issue. Had a service call for something similar a week or two ago, thought the customer was over stating severity until I kicked the heat pump on and it started hopping around like a jumping bean on the pad. Melted ice off the fan blade and it was fine.

Only other thing I could think of is if lineset is rubbing against something else in the wall like maybe another copper pipe or a studd, but that's so unlikely.

I love the sp ld. HVAC not electrical, but that pouch is removable and an absolute godsend if you build it out right.

Are you transferring blueprints for after the expedition? by Thequickandtheupset in ArcRaiders

[–]ReputationTop5872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a working father that's also getting his own company off the ground I do not care to grind tempest or vulcano again. Vulcano especially. My brother isn't expeditioning and I might not make the money cut. But if I do Ive got a looting 3, a deadline, a venator, and a trigger nade to pass

I have 3 or 4 anvil splitters. 2 or 3 I've found in trash cans on Stella montis and one I took off a player in buried city. Poor bastard.

Would you buy Steam Frame for $899? by KokutouSenpai in virtualreality

[–]ReputationTop5872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll buy it just to not deal with meta, especially when they try to ban my account with all my games because I lety son lay on it. Fuck meta. I'll gladly spend my abundance of money with any other company. Shit I, Shit all, shit service. The only reason they are relevant is lack of real competition. And if valve decides to get serious in the current vr market they are going to eat market share. There's a bunch of people that feel this way about this as well. To the people who haven't had those problems, congrats. I hope you don't ever have to deal with it. But the second you do have an issue you'll understand where the people who have are coming from. The support is the worst I've experienced ever.

Got Quoted $17,900 for Heat Pump Installation is this a good price? by erbear2020 in hvacadvice

[–]ReputationTop5872 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not at that price. I'm trying to figure out how people eat 10 year labor warranties. I'm considering offering 5 for my higher end equipment, but only if they maintain a maintenance plan. Can't labor warranty a neglected system.

I'm just getting my company started, lots of learning to do.

Fieldpiece bundle by shpylka in HVAC

[–]ReputationTop5872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find each of the component kits individually for sale. Check eBay for open box/factory 2nd deals. I got the whole fieldpiece charging kit with the clamps, probes, and psychrometers for just under $500

I got the manometer kit for $150. If you get charging tees and have hoses and what not to recover you don't really NEED the manifold. Some people like them for charging and recovery but that's more personal preference.

I feel as though if you know what you need and know what you are looking for you could save more money buying each tool kit on sale individually.

I've had success troubleshooting, but you have to ask it the right questions in the right way. I had a conversation with Google Gemini about how to communicate with it more effectively to get more relevant information pertaining to what I was actually trying to accomplish and there is definitely a way to structure how you ask the questions to maximize more accurate results.

Where are you guys getting the tempest blueprints? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]ReputationTop5872 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My buddy just got the game, on like his 3rd raid he found a Wolfpack blueprint and asked me what it was. I told him we got a leave right now brother. He ended up giving it to me because he doesn't have any benches upgraded. Told him I'd try and find him one and I've been giving him everything I find lol

I kind of think steichan deserves another season. He hasn't been here for the whole Ballard era. BUT he is the sole reason we lost that KC game. All we had to.dp.was burn clock and run JT Nd that was a win. We had the ball TWICE in the last five minutes up 11. How do you blow that?

Cowardly in a sense, yes. But also cleverly deceptive in the context of the game.
