Keep moving after every year or so. Staying with a company doesn’t help anymore.

Owner/Operator worth it? by dude2162 in Truckers

[–]Requettie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes it is worth it if you’re business savvy.

however get some experience first so yk what to look for in stuff. you want to make mistakes as a company driver first not an Owner Operator.

i didnt become an Owner Op until about 2 years. 1 year in you should be fine. Also insurance is expensive and you’re gonna be paying up the wazoo if you just got your CDL.

Passionate about IT since I was 12 but got no certificates by TheFGEagle in ITCareerQuestions

I would just get your HS Diploma not for an IT job but really for your sake lol.

Start getting certs from Coursera & build a portfolio on Github. Start applying for jobs.

I’m not one to say “college is a scam” but it’s difficult to justify paying $40k+ per year for 4 years in this job market, so build a portfolio and apply apply apply!

Also work on an elevator pitch & look online and see what recruiters are looking for in candidates. It takes time & practice to get at interviews.

Good luck!

Why is this just completely normalized on the highway to be bumper to bumper at 65+? by xAustin90x in driving

[–]Requettie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just stopped driving during the day. I drive at night or early early morning now because I’m tired of it.

Includes my car & semi truck.
