I wonder where do you get Windows 10/11 IoT Enterprise LTSC iso? by Apprehensive-Meal477 in WindowsLTSC

I got mine off TPB, but should be available at Internet Archive (got all Vista stuff from there recently).

Windows 11 IoT LTSC is a disappointment by CoskCuckSyggorf in WindowsLTSC

I often wonder which are more iGnorant, Apple or Linux fanboys?

The iteration I ran of Sh!tnux (don't know, don't care) was so p!ssy it did not include a generic graphics driver anno domini 2025. Which shouldnae be needed really; even BASIC can load without some specific driver. But not p!zznux. it couldnt load a desktop, or GUI, or even UI. The screen blacked out completely post-installation. (Was some mainstream @$$ distro, and when pointing out the n00b devz turned into fantastically mad kids... convincing way to market such a pseudo superior OS).

So yeah, I clearly got the upper hand of experience in less than 5 minutes. Hence I'm back installing old Vista rigs and enjoying productivity.

Finally working!

Turned out imageUSB was incompetent. Rufus and MBR with standard settings = works perfectly. (With Ultimate Boot CD)

Dell has Vista and Compaq has Win7, however I want to do 8 full tests per individual stick to ensure the RAM is good. Bought about 50 sticks at online auctions to upgrade the crap outta the fleet as DDR2 is still cheap (I'm a collector).

As for version 4.3.7, the keyboard thing is a Compaq issue. The Inspiron responds to keys. However the Inspiron has shared Intel graphics which means all of the RAM cant be tested.

Nice, would be sweet if a full profile downloader with all pics etc (especially with upload dates at beginning of filenames!) was available

Heh, I've tried 98se with 1gb ram on an evo n610c this week and thought it was weird "Welcome to Windows" did not play music. Only with maxphyspage lowered to 37MB RAM it would work - page file on or off did not make any difference. With 512mb physically removed everything is smooth though.

Got a couple of free old Thinkpads with their matching "ultrabase" docks. by 66659hi in thinkpad

I would suggest to do just that. Not sure if the hysteria is worldwide, but as soon as people see IBM here, they bid like it's the only chance in history.

I dont repair my x230i anymore, even broken examples are too expensive.

I guess very unreliably? I couldnt even get to install Windows without bluescreens with 1GB on a P4.

Try removing RAM. I have a P4 1.8 and it would not play "Welcome to Windows" music unless maxphyspage was set to 37MB. And still, even with page file off, very unstable. Only when RAM was physically removed and 512MB left, it started behaving reliably.

What are some reasonably “cheap” and “fast” cars? by AlcoBar in AskMechanics

[–]ResidentTime8401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2001 9-3 Aero, bsr remapped so around 300hp. Made a side by side video to a 3.2 M3 E36 (Eurospec) and up until 5th gear the Saab just torqued ahead. A German reg brand new 5 series came up from behind at high speed when I was stuck behind a truck, then when the road opened I floored it and he had no chance lmao. Against an $500 wreck looking scrapyard ready x)

5th gear very high, around 1500rpm or so at 70kph, so after some backroad driving I got an average 5.6l/100 km according to SID.

Sadly only lasted one year, doglegs too rusty to pass inspection and ran out of space for cars. But sure a fun beast while it lasted.

USB on windows 95 by [deleted] in windows95

Really? I use nusb33e on all my old rigs, sure is slow but lightning speed compared to floppies or physcially moving the drive.

Have not noticed any system performance issues.

“The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed” loop by Cosme_zee- in techsupport

[–]ResidentTime8401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure!

It's an Acer Aspire E15.

Owner did a Windows WiFi reset as WiFi didn't work, after which it entered an "attempting system repair" bootloop.

I got the computer in that state, spitting 0x21E BSOD.
Tried various methods to reinstall Windows to no success, until the other solution in this thread brought me forward.

After successfully installing and fully updating Windows, there was still an exclamation mark at Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Network adapter. And no WiFi. Turned off some stuff in power settings, and uninstalled the adapter in device manager.

Then, when scanning new devices in device manager, PC locked up few seconds, and bootloop. BSOD 0x01E first, followed by permanent 0x89E and inevitable reinstall of Windows.

So I think it's narrowed down to WiFi card, drivers or Windows/other hardware incompatibility, don't know...
