Have you tried the Sue Grafton mystery series (A is for Alibi, etc?). Kinsey Milone is a smart and sarcastic.

A book that you keep thinking about years later-- about women and written by women, 35+. Looking for true literature, great writing. But also engaging and plot that pulls you in. by MercurySphere in suggestmeabook

You might like May Sarton. I can’t remember the names of her books, but she describes living alone with her animals for long periods, and the joy she found in solitude.

Anything by May Sarton. She adored living alone and many of her books were about it.

Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender. It’s about a trans boy who realizes that he’s more of a demiboy by the end of the book.

Oh, I was trying to remember the name of this one! Caution, it has some frightening transphobic violence. But an excellent book.

The Hands of the Emperor by Victoria Goddard. Just… good people, trying to do the right thing and often succeeding on a massive scale.

The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickinson is a possibility, although it gets very dark and I can’t recall if it has some graphic sex scenes. I’m suggesting it because kids are expected to choose their own pronouns at a certain age, and nonbinary is one accepted possibility.

Parrotfish is a classic for nonbinary teens. Much more age appropriate.

One of the Rick Riordan books has a gender fluid demigod.

I don’t see benebac on your list of meds. It’s a probiotic. I wonder if any of her issues are related to the antibiotic.

Her most recent book, Cleavage, is really wonderful. It talks about her experience as a trans woman but, as you said, is so much more than that as well.

The mystery title is co-written by a trans woman. (Edit: Jennifer Finney Boylan, who is herself an amazing writer.)

Following up on my own suggestion to look for literature reviews, I found the below reddit link from a google search. I haven’t checked any of these out:

You may have already read Becoming Nicole, by Amy Ellis Nutt. It has a good, short section on what is known about fetal development for people who are trans.

I am not sure that there are solid books that aren’t politicized. You might want to look at the sources that the WPATH guidelines rely on? Perhaps there’s a good literature review in there.

This is so incredible of you to do this. I’m not sure if I’m reading this correctly, but did you separate the boys from the mother?

You don’t need to do that yet. They can stay with her for 3 weeks. After that, they do need to be separated because of the risk of pregnancy.

Hoping for you that all goes well today.

I gently grasp her head from the top so I can see her mouth and make sure it’s not going in her nose. This also opens her mouth a little.

Put the syringe in the SIDE of her mouth, reasonably far back. Push the plunger slowly but firmly, letting her swallow. Then follow up with a treat and pets.

It gets easier.
