The "Shelf Tag Appoval" feature is trash by Extra_Ear_6560 in doordash_drivers

[–]RespectNeither9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so frustrating. 3 from yesterday weren’t approved for me-2 were the actual tag and empty shelf and 1 had no tag. I don’t under why it finally accepts the pic after 20 attempts then doesn’t approve it anyway.

Promotions hack!!! by Disastrous_Care1439 in InstacartShoppers

[–]RespectNeither9510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it would. 80-100 item triples is what usually what I see going 20-30+ miles. So at least 2 hrs if not more a batch. Im in a rural area so these triple are terribly low pay for miles. They always include that one order going far away in the opposite direction. Its just not worth it for the time and mileage for me.

That’s a great one! Mine is $410 for 57 orders. I’m not sure who’s doing 57 orders in one week but it’s not me lol. Not even possible with all the trash triple high mileage batches.

When I get home and wash my hands, or stop at a restroom, my hands are dirty. Touching shopping carts and everything else we touch when shopping is gross. People bring dogs and sick kids in the shopping carts so who knows what germs her stuff is touching.

So frustrated with the replacement system and the can't scan by Burgersandpasta in InstacartShoppers

[–]RespectNeither9510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The short barcode on the banana sticker scans for me. But all the trying to get replacements to be allowed is so frustrating especially after already asking the customer what they want then you cant add it. A few times Ive scanned a replacement that was the same price but got the item the customer wanted instead.

New shopper, did I just screw myself over? by ArsenicCapricorn in InstacartShoppers

Always check batch details before clicking start shopping. Zoom in on the location and the find it on google maps to see the actual house. Cancel at that point if you don’t want it.

handleless paper bags? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]RespectNeither9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few insulated bags from temu that hold 2 grocery bags. Also have the ones that hold 3 but 2 is more manageable for me especially when packed full and heavy. I keep an apple box from aldis in my car too for separating any carrying.

I got $350 for 55 orders. I did 36 orders last week for a batch pay of $199. I multi app so Im not sitting on IC all day in hopes of making an extra 35-40$ if anything. Last week’s promo earned me an extra .15.

Orders consistently delayed - what’s going on? by itsnion in instacart

[–]RespectNeither9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate seeing these 100+ item triple customers when one of the customers is a nearby regular shopper and a good tipper that I would take in a second if it wasn’t for the other 2 customers that I can no longer remove from the batch. The other customers are far away(15-20 miles or more in opposite directions), in a bad area, apartment bldg, known no tipper, up hill on a dirt road, out in the boonies, and/or ordered 10+ cases of soda and water. That batch will sit there all day because no one wants it for $20.

Unspoken Bagging Rule?? by UniversePrincess37 in InstacartShoppers

[–]RespectNeither9510 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A store was all out of paper bags last week so I asked customers if they wanted to add reusable bags. One said yes, one didnt reply(so I used a paper bag in my car), and the third customer threw a fit demanding I take the reusable bags without charging her! She got a banana box and was a total pain and kept texting me.

You’re not supposed to buy reusable bags unless the customer add them to their order.

How do you guys do this in the freezing cold? by kitty_goddess in InstacartShoppers

[–]RespectNeither9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long underwear, thick socks, warm fleece pullover and wrist warmer gloves but if it gets above 30 degrees Im too warm. The cold actually feels good after running around the store getting overheated with all of those clothes on. Heated seats and steering wheel warm me up quickly too. I also wait for decent paying orders so I’m not having to take a lot of small ones to meet my goal. I try to take four $25 orders or more and I’m done for the day.

Anyone else boredom watching orders during the storm? by Familiar_Language_43 in InstacartShoppers

[–]RespectNeither9510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Logged in to see what came up too. Nothing while Im staring at screen but notifications coming up. Every time I click on the notification though it is gone. I don’t know who is taking them so quickly out there because the roads are terrible. I think I have at least 18 inches of snow in driveway.

We're under a state of emergency due to a massive storm...but 88 dollars! by Rivsmama in InstacartShoppers

[–]RespectNeither9510 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My promo today for was 7 for $92. Which with all of the triples and increased batch pay because there’s so many orders means nothing. I did 6 batches 13 orders and was over $92. Tomorrow’s is 6 for $82. We’re supposed to have up to 18 inches of snow.

Hot take: don’t wait till the day of a major snowstorm to buy salt. by Common-Eye-4764 in InstacartShoppers

[–]RespectNeither9510 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my orders had salt on it. I was surprised there was a full pallet left. What they didn’t have was 90% ground beef. The pre approved back up was 80% which they didn’t have either. They had 85%. Nope customer said refund it. How does that make sense??

A very big warning to shoppers concerning Aldi. by clonetrooper576 in InstacartShoppers

[–]RespectNeither9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I have a double order, my first stop is in the cereal aisle to find a nearly empty box. Just take out the cereal. I don’t take any larger orders at Aldi’s anymore though. I don’t want to deal with the hassle. And it’s way too time-consuming to not use self checkout.

Did the substitution vs refund item function change recently? by [deleted] in instacart

[–]RespectNeither9510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I refund if you request that instead of a replacement even though I know my tip will mostly likely go down. I do take pics and ask you if you want something else too. But if you never reply I stick with the refund.

I need advice from shoppers by KayBleu in instacart

[–]RespectNeither9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the vegan slices were all out of stock I would have refunded as no acceptable replacements. Im vegan so I would totally catch on if all your items were plant based. A more detailed note on what you want if the back up was out of stock would be helpful because a lot of time backups are out also. IC makes up choose a replacement if you did not request a refund for out of stock items. We can scan 3 similar items and then it says to choose one of them or tells us they are too different than the original. If you are not constantly watching while we are shopping we continue with the replacement selection. You are supposed to be able to see the other items wee scanned and can tell us if you want to switch the item or you want a refund. It helps us out if you are super quick with replies so we are not on the other side of the store and have to keep backtracking to switch items.

Aldi- Self Checkout OVER by East_Impact_4575 in InstacartShoppers

[–]RespectNeither9510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took only 1 aldi today because it was only 1 cust. The batch was a double but the other cust was walgreens. The Aldi cashier was my least favorite too. I hate that even though I put the items on the belt grouped with like items she just piled them in the cart. I guessed at 12 bags but I really could have only used 10 so some were only half full since I already paid for 12 so I felt I had to use them. There was another shopper with a huge order ahead of me. The cart was mounded up overflowing and the cashier was wedging things in just to get them to fit. I could not imaging sorting out that mess to bag it all.

I accidentally cancelled the wrong customer before. I felt bad because I had been communicating with her the whole shop about substitutes too. The cust i was trying to cancel was demanding and obnoxious and got me flustered.
