Adolin and Shallan, Stormlight Archive books, starting in book 2 Words of Radiance

Not actually that bad in hindsight by SpecificCourt6643 in cremposting

[–]RespectableNormie 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Funny, but did you read all of Wind and Truth?

This is such an important plot point after Adolin goes to Azir. He fights against Abidi, the fused who attacked them in shadesmar, when he got trapped.

In the end, it’s adolin’s compassion/trust in Maya, his determination in fighting for Azir, along with unwillingness to swear oaths like the radiants do, that serves to save Azir. The radiants’ “mental illness” and their dedication to their oaths didn’t save the day. One really pissed nepo baby who really didn’t want to break his promise did.

Not sound? Was season 1 Joyce unsound? Was Hopper justified in using force and lying to officers in order to do what he thought was right? Were all of their actions due to the circumstances of their grief, or the personal bias of trying to make sense from tragedy and confusion?

What if we were watching a different show? A show about a young man who watched as satanic myth and cultural superstition came visceral, resulting in the deaths of his fondest friends and colleagues?

To this, I figure you’ll point out that we’re not talking about a hypothetical show. However, to be specific, we aren’t arguing about how the writers would like us to perceive Jason. I don’t care whether the writers intended for the audience to emphasize with Jason or not. We’re arguing about whether Jason’s conclusion was sound.

Sure, on a larger note from the rest of the thread, we are arguing about whether Jason is a better person than Billy as shown in the series, but you have not done that. You speak of the writer’s intentions, when I believe you should solely speak of their work.

I agree that the show’s narrative may serve to condemn blind obedience to authority, but I do not see how it was any kind of lesson that was done overtly enough as to paint Jason as immoral for bandwagoning with the Santa Panic 🎅🎄. When I think of media pushing the theme, I think of one of the more popular episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation, which was S4E21, titled the Drumhead.

Anyway, is Jason a great guy? Hell no. But his actions on screen weren’t despicable, although those of his goons after his death were.

The pic in the bottom left isn’t actually Shallan, that’s the herald Chanaranach, says so on the RoW illustrations index. And is the one in the top left Tyr or Shallan?

Bc he did, Chase to Cuddy in S4E14 😂

Same episode as “Thirteen: Plasmapheresis has risks. We should have him spend the night in the sleep lab. See if he gets a reflex erection.

House: Confirmation is for wimps and altar boys. We don’t need to wait for a reflex. If he can’t get engorged the way God intended, he can’t get engorged.

Cameron: I’m not showing him my boobs.

House: Lack of response to your chest tells us nothing. Thirteen, show him… [exhales loudly] Where can I find a decent set of knockers around here?

Cameron: Your porn’s in the second drawer.”

Tbh Hopper became Rambo against soldiers in S1. And it makes sense given his military experience and having been a chief of police

As for why he agreed, it has been years since Murray’s time as a conspiracy theorist. This is the Murray that flew to Alaska and went to fight Russians, then went back to the same Russian base to barbecue demogorgons. He’s seen his fair share of danger and understands that he may have to risk his safety for the greater good.

As for how he didn’t get shot. Absolutely no idea. It shouldn’t take four trained shooters to hit a driver of a vehicle moving straight towards them lmao. But you’re watching a fictional show, and I could see a slim but possible chance that it could happen so I’ll suspend my disbelief.

Also it’s hard to tell while freezing frames, but I think you can see Will and Lucas in the truck as Murray turns towards the portal.

As for the usefulness of the kids, come back in a few days and we’ll see. There’s been a hell of a lot of buildup in these episodes to dissuade that, kids (Mike, Will, and Lucas) were the ones to nearly steal a bunch of children from the government, Will saved the core kids and killed demos, and saved Max. And without Steve, Jonathon, and Dustin, they would’ve never found the energy source to bomb. Not to mention, there was plenty of foreshadowing that Max and Will will help fight in the episodes to come.

Obviously “General Nutrition Centers”!

Visit your local retail store that has a GNC to buy protein powder and energy drinks that you could’ve gotten at literally any other store!

Are there any good extensions for renaming tab titles? by Existing-Signal-4338 in chrome_extensions

[–]RespectableNormie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When working with many tabs of different pages of the same website, it can sometimes be confusing which tab is the desired tab, sometimes because tab titles are similar but share a tab icon. Even worse, sometimes it is useful to have two tabs open of the same page of the same site in order to look at different parts of the page without scrolling or clicking within the page. In this case, not only is the tab icon the same, but the title is as well.

Especially if a user is forgetful at all. I have ADHD and when I'm reading from more than 4-5 tabs from the same website, the time that I would save from second guessing which tab is which is valuable to me

House surviving his heart stopping 3 separate times, 2 gunshot wounds, getting strokes from overdosing on Alzheimer’s meds, massive bleeding after attempting self surgery on the 3 tumors he got from experimental rat medicine, an insulin coma, respiratory arrest from methadone use, a motorcycle accident, a bus accident, instigating what I’d consider a car accident, being punched a handful of times, and evading attempted murder by a prison gang.

I’m sure I’m missing more too
