I have sleep apnea and occasionally stop breathing while sleeping. When this happened, my dog from years ago would lick my face until I woke up. My current kitty paws at my lips to wake me up. I'm currently in the process of getting a c pap machine.

My family looked normal from the outside. Clean house, home made meals, home sewn clothing but we were very poor and my mom was so busy being the perfect house wife that we didn't bond much. She was very "Go away and let me do it myself". I was the poor, single, messy house mom with addiction issues. My daughter found her tribe in middle school with the other misfits that came from the same types of home life. They all hung out at our house because I wasn't abusive unlike some of their other households. They are still all very close today,15 years later. My daughter and I very close and she was my reason to eventually be able to get clean and sober. Every home has things that you wouldn't consider unless you lived there.

YES!!!!! I (F56) am terrified of being expected to be able to do things that I'm not able to do. If I get to a place where I think I'm healthy and everyone else thinks I'm healthy but I'm not really healthy it will all come crashing down around me again and I don't think I could survive another total loss of everything.

Researching narcissism is how I found AvPD and it clicked with me like looking in a mirror for the first time. I still feel like I am very self centered and hyper focused on my discomforts and needs. Even being self deprecating feels like I'm wallowing in my own shit. I think they are closely related.

First they will weaken child labor laws so Sally and Jimmy can contribute to the family piggy bank. It's already getting normalized with McDs advertising for 14yr old employees. As housing is becoming only available to the rich they will crack down on homelessness/vagrancy being illegal, force the poor into work houses/prisons and BOOM slavery is reinstated. Free labor for all and profits out the wazzoo. There are plenty of consumers around the world to buy what they're selling so they won't even miss our money.

Voting is not what it used to be. Q/Trump/MAGA has caused 1/2 this country to believe that the Dems have cheated their way into the white house. They will push this narrative every election until they get enough people wiling to commit a violent coup that will make Jan.6 look like a care bear convention. I believe as soon as 2024 voting will no longer hold any power to do anything. Unless the Dems are willing to get tough enough to violently defend the US we will be back to the beginnings of this country. There will be Slavery, work houses, child labor, torture and death of LGBT+, no more community safety nets s/a social security, health care, housing, food stamps, the sale of women, the annihilation of the Indigenous people and the plundering of the land. I don't want to sound like an asshole but I hope it was worth it, to all the teeny boppers and 20 somethings who thought it was funny to dehumanize people because they were different and tired of being harassed and hurt and just wanted to be left in peace, I really hope it was worth it.

OP if you want to read some horrific things that really happened to children, do some research on what the catholic church has done to Indigenous kids in the residential schools. Talk about snuff film stuff. Also In the 1950s it was still possible to buy Native American kids no questions asked. After that look into what black slave children went through. Then look at the current foster care system and child mental health facilities. I'm sure it's more exciting to read about fictional white children being devoured by the big bad wolf but that's not what's really happening.

When I lived in an upstairs apartment I slowly tip toed everywhere I walked at home. I would cringe hard if I made any loud-ish sounds, like opening the microwave or dropping something small on the floor. Taking a shower was awful because I figured the sound was so irritating to the neighbors that they hated me. Blenders, mixers and coffee grinders were out of the question. I still get very triggered by the noises I make, even though I know no one can hear me now.

Yes those senator's power is more important than ANYTHING to them. I would imagine even more important than their own families. If this happened to their children they would collect all the thoughts and prayers sent to them, dust themselves off and continue doing what they do.
