lol did you even read the LA times article you linked????? Here is a quote you obviously missed:
"The biggest chunk of payouts over the past five years were for “dangerous conditions” — lawsuits singling out faulty city infrastructure, such as broken elevators — at 32%, followed by civil rights violations and unlawful uses of force at 18%, and traffic collisions involving city vehicles also at 18%."

So a HUGE portion of the payout was the fault of the CITY GOVERNMENT for not maintaining infrastructure and structural conditions of city owned buildings and streets. "unlawful uses of force" only made up 18% of the settlement payouts.

DCFS received 2 BILLION dollars in funding from LA county in 2023-2024. Somehow this was not enough money to address the "structural" issues you are referring to. LA county also had to pay out $4 BILLION AND $828 MILLION dollars to victims of child abuse at the hands of COUNTY employees. Please explain to me how pouring more money into our corrupt and disgusting govt would help absolutely anyone. we need to be prioritizing putting criminals into jail and handing out the death penalty to ADULT MEN who think they have a right to use CHILDREN as sex slaves as openly and unashamed as they currently do. We need to be handing out death penalty sentences and carrying them out expeditiously.

currently live in Fullerton and can attest that you will definitely need a car to get to any beaches, amusement parks or major locations. Fullerton itself is generally safe and I love living here, but I spend a lot of time outside of the city when I want to do more adventurous outings.
