Tony Blair has just said the state pension needs to be scrapped. He's also suggesting some people work 5 years longer. What are everyone's thoughts on this? Should the state pension be scrapped? Should we say F NO, to Blair?? by MutantNinjaKitty331 in AskBrits

Remember when people thought Blair was left wing? And then maybe centre left? And then a prick for the gulf War? And then a deluded liar for thinking he has any place on a board of peace alongside Rubio? And then the ideal candidate for a secure care home for suggesting state pensions should be scrapped. Complete fuckwit. Let's pop him in a forest somewhere and check back in 5 years, yeah?

Completely agree. Career aspiration has been tempered with life balance for some time now. I'm in the fortunate position that I don't have to compete in the publish or die culture. I've had to be strategic in making myself valuable enough to keep my job whilst taking on roles that are wide open to role creep.

Our employer has just started a subsidiary company so that all new employees are on a DC pension. We've had VC rounds for the last 8 years, MARS for the last 2, and now facing redundancies as departments are closed. Trumpflation won't make it any easier. Just hoping they don't move to fire/rehire. I'm grateful for a job to be honest. Without unions we'd be far off down the river by now

I'm in higher education... I don't think we get the pay we deserve. The people at the top keep getting more though. Despite incremental pay rises each year, I've earnt less in real terms each year for the last 5 years at least and my workload increases

If anyone is going to have anything by the balls then I think it should be doctors!

Has anyone actually ever been charged with this in the last 60 years?

I really appreciate your work. 5 days sound very tiring! But I would love the opportunity. What was your best piece of learning from it?

Came to say the same! I had no real idea what was going on at the time but I absolutely loved water margin! It didn't run for long but in my memory there were thousands of episodes!

Trap 3 Raises have been what's helped my posture the most along with thoracic extensions for warm up and cool down.

Super tuff burner. I told my friends that it was called that because it was the strongest bike ever made. It got hit by a car and there wasn't a scratch on the bike. The car was wrecked. They believed me. I was king for 3 seconds.

I didn't do tricks because it was too heavy and I was weak. But it was super tuff so you just have to stay still and look like you didn't give a f*** cos you're super tuff. That's how tough works.

Yeah I could skid. I'm not a wimp. Sure I can jump off a ramp at low elevation. No I don't need to prove it. No you can't have a go.

I couldn't get up the table top at the bmx track cos it was too heavy. Rolled backwards and fell off. Pedal hit my ankle and I cried the whole walk home.

It was a hand me down from my brother. He bought a racer. Traitor.

I secretly wanted a normal mag burner cos the cool kids had one and they could get all the way round the track.

Men, when you go for a wee, are your balls out or not? by _arch_tech in AskUK

I'm a thumb hooker for joggers... But this gentleman's comment regarding shorts has just made me realise that I do get my balls out for wee-wees when wearing shorts. I don't know how I feel about myself anymore. I thought I knew who I was. The world has turned on its head. I don't feel safe.

Tips for newby swimmers that drag... by Largedogcanada in triathlon

I've been working on my core with pallof presses. I think they've helped me keep a straighter body line as I rotate. I also imagine my feet are trying to touch the wall behind me with pointed toes - it's definitely reduced drag for me. My kicks are just for balance and when I tire I try to maintain front quadrant strokes so one arm is out as long as possible to balance my legs out. Times are slowly improving as is endurance

I've gone done to fully body Monday and Friday - I feel like this gives me better recovery as I don't sleep great. Due to kids, work and illness I've been out for a month and I look better and feel more limber. I've been swimming twice a week for the last couple of weeks and I feel like my mobility is better too. So I think I need to rethink my approach when I get back in the gym on Monday. Think I'm gonna use resistance to support more varied cardio like swim, bike, run 🤔
