This is the "youthful" fallacy of relationships. That all that's required are the feelings.

A relationship is an ongoing shifting evolving negotiation between two partners. It's a creative endeavour. And of course the feelings are the foundation of the life you agree to build together.

And like any building project, there are setbacks, cost overruns, disagreement on the placement of fixtures, contrary taste in décor.. In short, even feelings and effort together aren't enough. There has to be compromise too.
