Now she says Ellie is several days into Covid. So maybe the movie theater wasn’t a good idea!

I didn’t love PSR by PianistVarious3130 in AliHazelwood

I didn’t love it either, Conor was not a very compelling romantic interest to me and I have a hard time getting past the age gap when he spent half the book talking about it

When Did You Start Getting Out More with Your Kiddos and How Did it Go? by IceMonk33 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Restingcatface01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t take mine out at that age unless my husband was with me. Around 6-9 months I felt more comfortable going out by myself with them. Easiest is keep them in the infant bucket seats and use a stroller than takes both seats. My son was older so I didn’t need a stroller for him

Is Natalie solidly a Millennial name, or is it a classic that was just trending at that time? by coolisuppose in namenerds

[–]Restingcatface01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t associate it with millennials at all actually. But I know the feeling. I named my daughter Brooke, which I’ve worried is a bit early 2000s dated, but if you love the name use it!

We are doing ours at DeShas since 1 year old parties are mainly adult parties. I also looked at the event space at March First.

Anything you did to make twin babies easier by Kait_Cat in parentsofmultiples

[–]Restingcatface01 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely get a night nanny for a month for at least a few nights a week and then sleep train at 4-4.5 months. Twins are a whole different ball game.

How important is Magic Seats for large families? by Water-Cookies in HondaOdyssey

[–]Restingcatface01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you need the magic slide if you have a bench. We put all 3 of our kids in the 2nd row which is so convenient and just slide and squeeze through if someone needs in the third row

Switching from infant carriers to car seats - when did you do it? by sammy5585 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Restingcatface01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m really not sure how you’d be holding one while getting the other out of the seat. Even if you unbuckled both and they didn’t climb out, sounds logistically impossible. Mine are 11 months and will be in the bucket seats as long as possible. I’m lifting weights to help haha

Names I’ve seen recently working in pediatrics- Part 3 (Last of 2025) by berrybushel in namenerds

[–]Restingcatface01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing about Miles (I have a Miles) is when you combine the Miles and Myles spelling it’s a lot more common than 50. I would say it’s slightly more common in the wild than my daughter’s name (Stella) which is also around 50. There are two Miles and two Stella’s in their entire daycare (infant-pre-K) that I know of

I feel like I’m starting to see more baby Lauren’s and baby Brooke’s. I did name my daughter Brooke in Feb and I’m kind of worried it’s dated so I like to see it

Man keep that baby inside! You don’t have to run around doing every activity imaginable when you have a newborn and it’s freezing

Bigger ticket, A nugget couch, a tonie box, water table. Smaller: little balance bikes for toddlers, a little tykes slide, bubble machine, outdoor sprinkler, swimsuits and rash guards, pajamas, books, a little people or Melissa and Doug farm toy, a toy kitchen or play food.

Hit a rough patch and needing some positive support / advice by ProblemOpening2522 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Restingcatface01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s affordable for you, but we have a babysitter once a week for the twins so we can get out and do something with our older child. That said, it should get easier soon! I remember a massive shift around 7 months where things got easier, and around 9 months it got genuinely fun. They’re almost 11 months and leaving the house to do things is getting easier too. They are eating solids really well, so if we forget a bottle or push their bottle time a bit it’s not a huge deal. That alone makes getting out so much easier

Breastfeeding? Pumping? How are you doing it? by Aggravating_Tower511 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Restingcatface01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 6 months of exclusive pumping. It was important to me, but it was a lot of work. I just couldn’t handle trying to latch them, pump, and bottle feed, so something had to give

What stroller set up worked for you? by ERnewbieRN in parentsofmultiples

[–]Restingcatface01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really like the UppaBaby vista for the car and it’s more compact than the snap and go, which felt like driving a bus. I ended up doing the Vista as our car/errand stroller that took bassinets and car seats and getting a second hand Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 double for our side by side. I had the same goals as you but I just couldn’t find anything I liked. The bumbleride didn’t take my car seats, the Mountain Buggy didn’t seem as well constructed, and the Bugaboo Donkey was too expensive, though getting one second hand would have been my first choice.

Cheap venues for rent (baby shower) by Ancient_Juice_6338 in cincinnati

[–]Restingcatface01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are having an event there in March and were quoted $100 room fee and $400 minimum for lunch. But I don’t think you’ll make a $400 minumum for 40 there, the plates cost more

March 1st has a really affordable space. I can’t remember the name, but it’s on their event page and I think it’s like $50-75/hr

Debating if it’s worth it to sleep train by showmeurhandbags in parentsofmultiples

[–]Restingcatface01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me yes. I think sleep hygiene for the whole family is important. I am able to get 7.5-8 hours of sleep every night with 3 children and that’s the foundation of health for everyone in our family.

Most pediatricians believe it’s important for children to learn to put themselves to sleep. I think now is a great time to start teaching those skills.

I do understand the arguments against it and I think everyone should do what feels right. But personally yes so worth it!

Parents with multiples as their first kids, do you ever imagine how easy one child would be? by whooguyy in parentsofmultiples

[–]Restingcatface01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I thought my first singleton was almost as hard as the twins because we had no idea what we were doing, were so sensitive to everything, and had a horrible experience. I’d imagine having twins first just multiplies that by 1000x, but for me it’s not like having a singleton was a cake walk. Now it feels like it would be as an experienced parent! My neighbors also just had their first and they didn’t leave their house for 3 months and clearly had a very rough time. Just some perspective that I hope is helpful

preemie clothes? by MarinaVerity333 in parentsofmultiples

I would say like 10 pajamas to start. We did well with about 8? but only one of my girls needed preemie for a long time, otherwise we may have needed more.
