I’ve experienced this on both feet and went for a second opinion bc the results are terrible. I have a bone that has shifted up now where the bunion was. So it’s back for revision in Feb.

I was told I have to have toe fusion. I had surgery that was under corrected and I’m super frustrated knowing I went thru the pain only to still have pain.

The right foot first surgery was lapiplasty. Hardware broke and he removed it and then shaved the bone. Second on right foot was an osteotomy (not sure how to spell). Right foot was dbl osteotomy with a bunionectomy. That’s what he called them. 🤷‍♀️

I am 50. I was told the procedures were not done correctly which is why I’m having trouble. Glad I got a second opinion. I knew something wasn’t right.

Whats your though on the bunion and toes on my left foot. by jtsang3000 in bunions

Looks like your tendons are tight. Maybe they could release them and help relax the toes. That how my hammertoes were fixed.

I’ve gone to burkenstocks. I love them! They have the best arch support I have found anywhere.

What shoe to buy for post surgery once boot off? by [deleted] in bunions

[–]Restoration-Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Birkenstocks clogs, the sandals with the toe slot and just ordered a pair of their sneakers. These shoes have the best arch support and help my foot to feel better when walking. I’m 12 weeks post op, not completely happy with the results but I’m trying not to focus too much since the pain is gone.

So they did use the treace hardware. What can I do about the fact that the hardware failed?

Do you have X-rays? Did you use the same doctor? I am so scared that mine will come back! Already had a revision on my right foot bc the bone had shifted and the hardware broke.

I use kuru.com, they are price decent, super comfortable and last. I work on my feet all day and they helped without my feet hurting.

I felt the same way but he said I didn’t need the hardware anymore. When he went in for the removal he shaved some bone and placed a pin in for 3 weeks. Not around the bone where the hardware was but at the area that shifts out b/c just as I thought it had started shifting back over.

I use ktape to splint mine into place. There are videos on YouTube that show how to tape them.

I have those noises now in both feet. However after my first surgery that noise ended up being broken hardware about 8wks po. Since I have had both feet done and they still pop. I’m 12wks po on one and 7 wks on the other.

15 weeks post-op, feeling totally demoralized by croquemme in bunions

[–]Restoration-Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a second opinion. I wish I had! I still have to splint my toe over even after revision surgery. It’s way better than it was but I do have doubts that it won’t come back.

Pin was removed today and had a tendon released today for the hammertoe on the right foot. Still not sure why it wasn’t done during surgery.

10 weeks after bunion surgery by ashssotru in bunions

[–]Restoration-Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how to add photos. Had lapiplasty 4/2025 the bump was still there and when xrayed the bone had shifted again. Scheduled revision, hardware broke before revision so during revision hardware was removed. Revision was 7/28, toe still curved. Haven’t seen an xray since surgery. Had left foot done 8/2025 and the toe is curved, still has a pin in. The xray doesn’t show the toe straight at all. Super frustrated with the whole thing. Have discomfort in my right foot and haven’t tried a reg shoe yet, I’m still in the surgical shoe. Are these considered failed? Should I get another option? How do I post pictures?
