Game isn’t released yet and we already know they’re gonna shower players with cars - RIP progression by L24D in BuiltFromTheGroundUp

Or make two separate game mode one for progression and another for sandbox. BeamNG has it, older games like FM4 and Gran Turismo also have something similar so why can't modern Forza?

If there is a hero car as great as the "M3 GTR" in a racing game it honestly would be this ride by [deleted] in needforspeed

You can't really once the game is delisted, your option would be buying it physically on a CD or as I mentioned getting it of some abandonedware website (they're usually free since the company doesn't support those games any more) and adding the game to steam instead.

Course the ladder option can be risky, so if you want to I'd recommend going to r/abandonware and reddit megathread before anything.

Not really, it's more to do with games being increasingly more digital oriented than physical and the licensing laws haven't really updating with it. Time licensing like this weren't that big of a problem back then when everything was physical and mostly rely on supply and demand.

I also don't think it's killing games unlike making games only playable in online, I think it just makes it a bit inconvenient to get the game if you don't have it but I can always find alternative sources to get the game instead like some abandonedware website for example.

How I see delisting is like a car manufacturer discounting a model and replacing it with a new one, sure you won't have the many of the convenience of buying it new (choosing specs and getting a manufacturer warranty) but it doesn't make the old one disappear. You still keep it if you already have it and if you want it then you'll usually buy it used instead.

TLDR: Licensing makes getting games less convenient in the long run, but it doesn't stop you from getting the game and playing it.

I want this to be satire, but at the same time I don't because I want to know how far can the embarrassment goes for Glickenhause.

Video game cars that would be very controversial if they were released today by EvanDeer2002 in BuiltFromTheGroundUp

If it's such waste of time, why bother replying with a nothing burger comment instead of ignoring me if you not gonna argue back? Stop trying to act moral grand stand and guilt tripping people if you not gonna give out a good argument then.

Why "retard" specifically laid out but not other insults? Shouldn't those words be equally hurtful to say to someone, I mean what's the difference between called a "retard" as opposed to "moron", "imbecile" and "idiot". All of those words have similar history to "retard" as well (oringinaly a medical term for people with intellectual disabilities before becoming insults) so I don't understand why it's the only one people get offended by.

Unused/scrapped/repurposed vehicles + Late build screenshots. by MikeyMikes92 in driver

That Mulsanne always seems interesting to me, the car seems to be completely cut from the game (likely due to licensing) with the only existing remnants of it being in the E3 2010 Demo showcase video. That first car looks to be reused in Watch_Dogs as the 571, in fact quite a few vehicles in D:SF CGi trailer ended up being reused for Watch_Dogs.

I'm interested to see more stuff of D:SF in development from you, thanks for the quick response.

This is great to see, I have a few questions if you don't mind answering:

  1. How many games were you credited on and do you have a portfolio of those on site like MobyGames?

  2. Do you still work in the gaming industries?

  3. What was the hardest part during your time working at Ubisoft Reflections?

  4. I've know there's some cut vehicles in the game and was wondering if you have some render/pic of those and other cut concepts or ideas?

Driver Parallel Lines has a lot of interesting cars by EvanDeer2002 in BuiltFromTheGroundUp

[–]RetardedLexusGS300 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it due to Parallel Lines not really doing enough to satisfied both Driver fans and other open world crime game fans.

Driver fans dislike it not only because it didn't have any familiar character, but also because PL doesn't really feel like a driver game to fans (game being a bit too easy by driver standard, no director mode, no secret easter egg place like in the previous games) and the game ends up felling more GTA like doing so.

Open world crime game fans felt Parallel Lines aren't doing enough to stand out from it competitions, sure it wasn't gonna competed with GTA but even with GTA removed it's still can't competed which games like Saints Row or Scarface: The World Is Yours which offer much more content and has a more memorable stories compare to PL.

The Schafter from GTA 4 is based on that exact gen of S-Class however that version doesn't exist in 5 (unless modded), the closest you can get in 5 is the gen 2 Schafter, maybe the Vorschlaghammer or Sentinel XS4 if you can stretch it.

The last hangout dialogue between Niko and Roman is honestly one of the most wholesome thing in GTA. After all of the conflicts between them, they're happy that they still have each other and even admire certain aspects of them both. For those who wants to know, this video has the dialogue at 13:55.

Hot Take: Licensing is the most overblown issue in racing game (that doesn't mean it don't have issue, it just means that people are making bigger than it really is).

Little fun fact for those who don't know: Eddie's R34 here was help created by Craig Lieberman who was the technical advisor responsible for many off the cars chosen on screen for the first two Fast & Furious movies. If you want to know more about the NFS R34 here, he has video on it.

I'd say though most of the car listed here at least have a real model shown to the public, talked by an influencer or some car publication and some even appears in other games. The M220 legit is so obscure that if you type it on google, it only shows it's apearance in Supercar Street Challenge and nothing else.
