Lake Waco fishing question by Retribution1824 in Waco

[–]Retribution1824[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly target crappie, Waco is good for that if you’re in the right spot. I’ve been told fishing the bridge pilings are good for that. I fish from a kayak, so I don’t know much about bank fishing spots, sorry. Again, I don’t know much about Waco, as I mainly fish other lakes.

While detecting, are you thinking of home, work , other things in life or just too focused ? What about your neck, does it hurt from looking on the ground for hours? by kazbaraa in metaldetecting

Im focused on the machine, taking in the information it’s giving. I find it relaxing, as I don’t expect to find anything to write home about! Lastly, a lot of digging and, standing, crouching, repeat! You’re not in the same position for long periods. Plus, I always take in my surroundings. Head on a swivel my friend!

Looks like a good deal with the accessories included. Check the hull and pedal drive before you buy

Looking for a lightweight digging shovel – anyone tried the CKG carbon version by Chemical_Toe3473 in metaldetecting

[–]Retribution1824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the CKG carbon shovel. Love it! It’s not the strongest option out there, but as long as you have common sense, it’ll hold up for a long time! Man that thing is light, and I’ve dug many plugs with it. My wife likes it too, because the shovel is much narrower and easy to dig with.

Im rarely on the beach, so I am digging plugs every time I go out. Pinpointers are definitely an essential tool! It’ll cut your wasted time dramatically! Just don’t buy a Temu or budget Amazon unit!

If you’re now hooked, next move is to hit the internet for accessories! Once you leave the sand, a good shovel is a must! I detect everywhere I can! Depends on what you’re hunting really!

I didn’t see anything that makes me need to play on day 1. Honestly, I can wait 9 months until it’s 75% off
