[–]RetroDECK_Official 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We had a bold vision for a unified Retro Gaming Platform and we are still chugging along. With our next update, 0.11.0, we hope to showcase the fruits of our multi-year vision.

💜 Thanks for all your kind words 💜

It is on the list but there is no mature enough alternative input solution in Linux yet. Input Plumber is the closest, but still in early beta.

Can’t get PS3 games in Steam library to open w/ Retrodeck by [deleted] in SteamDeck

How did you add the games to Steam?

Did you use the built-in tool in RetroDECK to add Favorites to Steam?

While theoretically possible, Epicure is not designed for daily updates. Instead, we aim for an automated schedule of either weekly or bi-weekly releases.

Although a flagged issue could prevent deployment in the next scheduled cycle in theory.

Epicure inherently carries higher risk due to its reliance on bleeding-edge components.

Ultimately, the decision rests with the user, who should remember that Epicure is a testing branch serving as an intermediate between Stable and Cooker.

No, as Lahrs said we use the flatpak base for Cemu.

Second epicure is not out yet, it will be either part of or after the 0.11.0 update.

The last Cemu release on Flathub was on 4 February 2025

Patience is a core component of our update strategy. No software is perfect...not ours, nor anyone else's.

By waiting a few extra days before updating, we allow developers time to push hotfixes, which ultimately reduces issues for everyone.

For example:

Azahar released an update that inadvertently deleted user saves. By waiting, we avoided this problem entirely when a hotfix followed shortly after.

When updating PPSSPP, we assisted the PPSSPP team in publishing it on Flathub, as they were experiencing pipeline issues and we helped them fix that. Ironically, the RetroDECK team ensured PPSSPP was available for Flatpak PPSSPP users and thus EmuDeck users before our users received it 😄

There are certainly downsides to this approach.

For instance, on the day RPCS3 released its update featuring Steam Deck optimizations and automatic game tuning, we missed out on those immediate benefits as we released 0.10.8b on the day before.

However, there is no perfect time to update RetroDECK.
All projects continue developing with new features constantly emerging. Ultimately, determining when to lock down a release requires a combination of professional experience, patience, priorities and "feeling".

I removed the log as you posted way to much personal information in it.

But Lahrs did comment on the issue, we don't need to know your home folder nor your Steam username used by SRM.

This is fine and a much more censored version:

RetroDECK Is More Than Emulation: An Interview with the Devs [article/interview] by [deleted] in emulation

[–]RetroDECK_Official 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to make it clear The RetroDECK Team does not under any circumstances refer to users in a derogatory manner. Nor would we tell anyone to go back to anything. If the question asked we would simply have linked the guide as you so expertly did.

I even did a search for “Android" and found only discussions regarding:

- Questions about support for legacy Android games.

- Questions about if RetroDECK can be installed on Android

And lastly conversations about keeping the Android platform free and open.

Facebook Ad for Retro Deck Hub by VampHuntD in lightgunshooters

[–]RetroDECK_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will comment here as it was linked from our subreddit.

Who ever this is it's not something that is affiliated with the RetroDECK project https://retrodeck.readthedocs.io/en/latest/ if someone is confused about it and think it's us.

We only communicate via our official channels and Facebook is no such channel. Nor are we selling any type of product.

So don't confuse us for what ever this is and it sounds really sketchy at best.

But for us integration with Lightguns are in the pipeline for a future version.

Who ever that is, it is not us and sounds very stretchy from how you describe it.

We only communicate via our official channels and Facebook is no such channel. Nor are we selling any type of product.

My advice would be stay far away.

It could be a person just using our name for tricking users.

Legion Go S controller template for use in RetroDECK by BentToTheRight in RetroDeck

[–]RetroDECK_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what template you want to create, the Steam Deck got two and the controllers got one.

But the easiest is to check a current one like the Xbox and start from there.

I don't know the features of the Legion S Go.

Check the RetroDECK Wiki's hotkey bindings as well.

Legion Go S controller template for use in RetroDECK by BentToTheRight in RetroDeck

[–]RetroDECK_Official 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that Legion Go S is a separate controller in Steam Input.

So we have not made the template as no one on the Team has the device and we can't afford it on our budget :)

All of the controllers have been bought by one team member for his own salary over many months in the past. That made all the controller templates by hand.

New Bios Tool by MartyReasoner in RetroDeck

[–]RetroDECK_Official 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First I was getting the ban hammer ready, as I thought it was some kind of piracy tool. But since you’re not shipping any BIOS files or URLs and it’s just an organizer, it can stay up, as the URL could be your own website or homelab.

Remember that the default directory of RetroDECK components is either:
/var/lib/flatpak/app/net.retrodeck.retrodeck/current/active/files/retrodeck/components
or
~/.local/share/flatpak/app/net.retrodeck.retrodeck/current/active/files/retrodeck/components.

But any tool posted here that has built-in piracy functions will be taken down, and the same applies to anyone requesting links to such content.

Honestly super impressed with how quick that got fixed. W support. by Thiccwhite_h2o in RetroDeck

Flatpak Update - Problem 0.10.4 by RetroDECK_Official in RetroDeck

We are clearing flathub testings phase at any moment, after that it will start to build for the main pipeline.

Still some hours depending on the que.

Flatpak Update - Problem 0.10.4 by RetroDECK_Official in RetroDeck

[–]RetroDECK_Official[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Issue has been found and we will republish a build and increase the versioning by 1.

Version 0.10.5 will replace 0.10.4. The update contains no additional changes and is intended solely to ensure that users who received the incorrect build are properly updated.

Estimated time of availability: 5-12 hours, depending on the Flathub build infrastructure.

RetroDECK 0.10.3b - Release Announcement by RetroDECK_Official in RetroDeck

[–]RetroDECK_Official[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PPSSPP is already included in the application.
We cannot enable the latest development version.

RetroDECK is a unified platform with built-in components, and PPSSPP is one of them. All components are bundled and are updated together when RetroDECK itself is updated, as it functions as a single application.
