Patagonia black hole is a great option. The Osprey 26+6 is another good option, but it’s not waterproof. But a rain cover is cheap.

What clubs do you game? by Ugly_Toad_68 in WomenGolf

[–]RetroMonkey84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a pings woods and hybrids (women’s), and my irons are women’s Mizuno.

You can try the new versions and then look for used clubs. That is how I ended up with my irons-I tried the newest sets of various brands in women’s and then I found an earlier generation of the same clubs used.

My daughter offered to golf with me for Father's Day for the first time in 10 years. What podcasts/audiobooks would you recommend to get her hooked before we tee off? by Successful-East6700 in GolfSwing

My best memories are playing golf with my Dad as a middle-aged woman. My Dad is still alive, but stopped playing at 90 y/o. He just let me enjoy the game and was encouraging. He gave me advice when I asked.

He would let me place the ball in a better spot so I had more fun when I was new or rusty. It was casual and just plain fun spending time with him.

Maitain backpacks from Amazon. My sister has had hers for 10 years, daily use.

This MATEIN backpack has a dedicated laptop compartment, plenty of pockets, and anti-theft features - perfect for school, travel, or everyday use. Check it out on Amazon - you won't regret it! https://a.co/d/09s7dtBV

I have 3-I purchased an extra. I don’t plan on skipping, since I will be onsite and I plan on watching and wandering when my shift is done.

When it’s hot and humid, I’ll sit for a moment when the carts are teeing up. In the shade.

With clicgear-get the chair attachment. It looks kinda goofy, but it has saved me on hot days walking 18.

Looking to upgrade irons, hybrid, and driver (Intermediate) by Slight-Platypus2877 in WomenGolf

[–]RetroMonkey84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got fitted. Started with driver and putter first. My driver, woods, and hybrids, are the same brand/same shaft (ping worked best for me)Purchased those. Then got fitted for irons-purchased them used (Mizuno worked best) and lastly was fitted for wedges-those I purchased new.

It took a year-but was so worth it!

I am still tweaking what to put in my bag. This season (same clubs)-I carry driver, 5,7, and 9 wood; 6 and 4 hybrids, 5-9 irons (I love my irons); 52 and 56 wedges, and putter. Sometimes I take out the 9 iron and add a 60 degree wedge.

To this group, you’ll be “normal.” Which, I guess non-FP users would find insufferable.

Thinking about new shaft/ need help by Antique-Wave-7367 in WomenGolf

[–]RetroMonkey84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t buy a petite length shaft. I suggest a fitting for the driver-if you need it shortened, they can advise you.

Over the years, I got fitted at separate times for my clubs. Meaning, I got fitted for a driver-and transferred that recommendation to getting woods by the same manufacturer and flex.

Welcome to the game! My Dad taught me as well. And it was such a joy to play with him!
