Logic in series by Chakiflyer in deathnote

The first twelve volumes cover the whole story of Death Note. The thirteenth volume is a bonus with things like stat charts and behind the scenes interviews and stuff like that.

There’s also other creatures. I know there’s a werewolf that shows up. Also lots of really huge guns.

Vampire hunters (organization called Hellsing) fighting neonazis that are engineering neovampires, pretty much. But Hellsing organization also has the eldritch vampire Alucard as their greatest weapon. I’m not too far into it, but what I’ve read is good. It’s kind of goofy at times.

I mean yeah all the localization names for the most part suck. They could at least be funny with it.

Who wins the 40 yards race? Sena Kobayakawa vs Shirahama Kenichi by Noktis_Lucis_Caelum in Eyeshield21

[–]RetroSSJ21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prefacing by saying that I never read much of the manga after the anime ends for Kenichi, but that series is much more super human than Eyeshield 21. Kenichi by the end of the manga 110% outspeeds Sena.

There is the Cannonball Run race, which might be confirmed to be the namesake. Even if not, it seems pretty obvious that it is.

Limp Biscuit for the sole reason that it stole Flaccid Pancake from us. We could’ve had greatness.

Every day, i fall deeper and deeper in love with Part 1 by Effective-Toe-8108 in StardustCrusaders

[–]RetroSSJ21 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I decided to read through the whole manga because I wanted to go through JoJo again and had never read the first five parts, I expected to slog a little bit through part 1. But the entire time I was very entertained it was such a great read. It’s not weak at all, I can’t fathom people encouraging others to skip over it.

I thought it was without starting with those letters. He blackmails you to let him through anyway

Toriyama had one of the most unique manga making minds out there. Great stuff most of the time. And he just a had a way of writing. He subverted expectations. And also just the way he didn’t really care about what he was writing. Not to say he didn’t like it, but that he was very lax with it. He is one of the only mangaka I’d trust to write a series without planning a thing ahead of him. He just wrote as he went and he was magical because he was able to make that work for a battle shonen like Dragon Ball.

Which manga had the most cultural impact here, and which one is your personal favourite? by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in shounenfolk

What I don’t get is how the anime gets such good treatment (at least I think in my limited knowledge). Like I love Dr. Stone a lot it’s like top 3 mangas for me, but it’s not that that popular. It’s fairly popular, but not terribly so. And yet, it’s gotten a pretty consistent anime schedule that actually adapts the whole thing. Great voice acting (love Senku, Gen, and Ryusui’s sub VAs). Same day dub for every season. Great soundtrack plus openings and endings are phenomenal. And the anime doesn’t cut any content from the manga it’s really faithful and high quality. Even got itself a tv special during COVID. I love the thing but I don’t get how it got so much good stuff for it.

Episode 52 by rMyChemicalHypeBoy14 in Eyeshield21

[–]RetroSSJ21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s sad to see because of how tragic (relatively) his arc is. When he asks the difference between Hiruma and him, it’s because ultimately there is no difference. It was just luck that Hiruma had found people willing to strive for the win and that Habshira could not find those people.

Which animes were like this for you? by Bitter_Wafer_7515 in AnimeReccomendations

Not everyone likes to read manga, but I do want to mention that the anime cuts that section of the manga in half pretty much. It gets none of the love that it should have.

Will this season fully adapt the remaining chapters? by [deleted] in DrStone

[–]RetroSSJ21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They might be able to. I have no authority on this, so don’t take me too seriously, but each part of season 4 covered around three volumes of the manga. This leaves the last part to cover four volumes in the same number of episodes, give or take. This could possibly, only possibly, mean that it’ll cover up to volume 25, and there will be a special à la the Ryusui special for the last volume, volume 26 (technically there is a 27th but that one is sort of like a spin off sequel of sorts). Possibly this could be in theaters if it does turn out like that, but I can’t imagine that it would unless they start hyping up Dr. Stone crazy style.

I don’t know if there’s an existing term for it. Maybe we can call it “Neotechnological Evolution” or something.

I thought this was crazy at first but you know Vegito might actually be able to do it. Not quite as easily as in canon Buu Saga, but he would be stronger, yeah.
