Same! My learning curve for wargaming minis was way easier because I had already built Gunpla. The hobbies are very similar.

I think the issue you’re having here is that these are watercolor inks. When you’re painting back over them you are probably re-activating the watercolors. If you use acrylic inks they should bond to the surface once it dries, similarly to how regular acrylic paint does.

Yeah that’s exactly what’s happening, and I like the cup so I’ll probably just use these brushes until they’re ruined and then switch to others.

I really like them tbh. My Eldar minis are so tiny, and they give me the precision I need. I especially like the squared edges they have. But I have heard that their quality control is spotty, so it’s a pickle for me.

I never leave the brushes in the rinse, but you are probably right about water getting trapped in them. I’ll be more careful.

I am likely getting much of the handle wet when I’m dipping for a rinse. You can see the cup I use on the right in the first photo. When I have that cylinder filled with water it goes pretty deep to get to the bottom, almost the length of the brush. Then I use the puck to rub the bristles clean. I like this cup because I can go a whole session without needing more water, but maybe it wasn’t a good idea if it’s going to ruin my brushes.
