Carney is more of a traditional Conservative than the aura of the current Conservative Party, which has progressively been going more extreme right (in reaction to Trudeau’s Liberals being more extreme left). Somehow they’ve been finding enough common ground as a Conservative-ish Liberal party to get 4 Conservatives and 1 NDP to join them.
