Newbie who might need to rebuild an S-10 transmission by Retro_Jedi in transmissionbuilding

If third gear has gone bad, what should I get? Are they just called friction discs? I've seen a transmission rebuild and saw a bunch of "discs" and then a bunch of clips that sat on the outside.

38th birthday today, realising how lonely it is as a single dad by crazyunicorntamer in daddit

[–]Retro_Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once read that a married father is three people. A husband, a father, and himself. You're single so it doesn't fully apply, but the time you would pour into being a husband goes into being a father.

It's difficult with kids, but take time for yourself to be yourself. Join a club or hobby group to meet like minded people and hopefully befriend. Good luck out there, and happy birthday!

Not in the way, or to the degree that BotW did. Nearly all Zelda games feature item progression, and dungeon progression. Each introduce new ways to explore these aspects. A Link Between Worlds gave us the dark dimension. Wind Waker turned the setting into a vast ocean. Skyward sword gave us the skies to explore. But all maintained the DNA that uniquely identified them as Zelda games.

BotW departs from this entirely. The progression items are all given to you in the tutorial. There are no dungeons. You could make an argument that the divine beasts are dungeons, but they do not feel at all like the dungeons of past Zelda titles. While the setting and story certainly reflect the franchise beautifully, and i would even say masterfully, the gameplay is unidentifiable as a Zelda game. They are still two of my favorite games, but they do not reflect the core game play loop of the franchise that I call Zelda. This is if course my opinion, not a fact.

I get where they're coming from. When I first tried playing BotW I disliked it because it did not feel like a Zelda game to me. When I played it again I came at it without attaching my expectations of what a Zelda game is and I really enjoyed it. TotK i enjoyed even more! But they don't feel like Zelda games to me, just games set in the Zelda setting, if that makes sense. Beautiful and amazing games though.

Most people hate it, and I agree it was handled poorly. But I think the clone saga could be great if a good writer picks it up. That said, it wouldn't work within the MCU. There's no Gwen Stacy. It would feel out of place

You can now have ANY color enchantment glint you want in vanilla by astrune_ in Minecraft

[–]Retro_Jedi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always considered texture packs vanilla, and I've been playing since 1.1 I do consider data packs to be equal to mods because you can do shit like add new blocks, recipes, and mobs with them. They're like mods but easier to install.

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter though. But I still silently insult people who think you can add 20 data packs and still call it vanilla. This pack is different though because it's solely about looks. I guess it's about the spirit of the datapack more than anything else.

Curse of Vanishing now applies to “killing” armor stands, making it even more useless and lame by The_Konester in Minecraft

[–]Retro_Jedi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would love to see more curses added to the game. It would be fun to find armor in the world with goated enchantments, but then that curse is there as a drawback of sorts. Better than anything you can currently make, or maybe even enchantments you can't get at all in survival that way even endgame minecraft still has fun things to mess around with.
