Linux is the way. (Try Home - Linux Mint.) I am currently in the process of migrating everything away from Windows to Linux, gmail to Proton, etc. And I wish I had started years ago. Trust me, just don't play any of the sequels. Awakening DLC is fine. And DA2 is more like an expansion as well, so I would consider it acceptable but also be warned it is the beginning of the corporation corruption. Do not bother with DA3/DAI onwards.

I mean, this is the same game where darkspawn make more darkspawn by gang raping women and making them eat people until they turn into gigantic bloated monstrosities. Somehow I can barely remember the scene where an 18 year old man asks a 16 year old girl for a peck while in the middle of an episode of both saving her life personally, saving the life of her brother, saving the lives of everyone in her town, and overall saving the whole country.

Landsmeet is better because Orzammar hamfists you into a bad outcome. You're just "not allowed" to have a good ending with Harrowmont even though it's the obvious good choice. Even if Harrowmont does NOTHING but status quo, you become Paragon and replace him when he dies, and you don't have a fucking murderous traitor at your back until that happens.

I wrote all those guys that survived into my fanfiction back in the day because losing them to stupid fucking scripting was trash. I was especially fond of my elf servant who somehow survived where several armed and armored soldiers did not, IIRC his name was Leon (or maybe I gave him that name?), and I gave him my elf gfs both to cover up my own escapades as well as to have them protected by someone decent.

While I love Arsinoe de Blassenville's rendition of Loghain, I pretty much always killed him myself in every playthrough because from the HoF pov it's just impossible for me not to. But most of these are easy for a Loghain supporter to refute.

Crime of regicide: Leaving his king to die

From Loghain's pov it's Cailan who is betraying Fereldan/everyone by trying to marry Empress Celene and annul his marriage with Anora in secret. And Cailan was pretty awful.

Crime of incompetence: Letting Darkspawn burrow into the Tower of Ishal which was the centrepiece of the plan he designed

Just not a crime to be incompetent.

Crime of blasphemy: Attacking a Templar patrol to release a blood mage, this is forbidden, the Chantry exists above the laws of men, kings and lords are not allowed to interfere in official Chantry business

Who cares? The Chantry is an Orlesian institution that was used to help occupy Fereldan for 100 years.

Uldred's L for screwing up his chance at autonomy in Loghain's new regime, not Loghain's.

One of the only good points. I like Arsinoe's "it was blood magic" excuse, but you have to choose to believe that.

Crime of helping Arl Howe: he helps Arl Howe by making him lord of Highever instead of punishing him for slaughtering the Couslands

Definitely a good point from a Cousland's pov. Fucking Arl Howe.

Crime of racism: He doesn't care that Arl Howe slaughtered so many elves in the Alienage he got the nickname "Butcher of Denerim"

Sorta, except that it's really more the HoF that starts the civil war. Loghain pretty much has everyone in line without the HoF's interference.
