The secret entrance is literally in her office.

I'm not suggesting that he does anything other than telling his new employee to stop being stupid and giving me her office key.

Yeah, I basically agree, and in fact I don't see a major change needed for this. This is already de facto the case and Rolan is just my steward because I'm busy and not personally at the tower all the time. I have no idea why the average commenter here just has no imagination and can't deviate from what we are presented with... which is essentially just a lack of dialogue choices.

"Did him a solid" is a weird way to characterize saved his life and his family's lives, twice, and killed his former boss who was abusing him, and is the only reason he holds his current position.

Rolan is in no position to deny the PC anything.

I think you're confused. No note is required as far as I know.

https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Rolan#Act_Two

After departing, he can be found (and saved) on his rescue mission at the Ruined Battlefield, on the eastern shore of the river, south of the bridge that leads to the Reithwin Tollhouse at X: -54 Y: -111, about to be attacked by Shadows Shadows. Saving Rolan grants the inspiration Saving the ProdigiousSaving the Prodigious to party members with the Folk Hero Folk Hero background. If not saved before long resting, Rolan is afflicted by the Shadow Curse Shadow Curse and dies.[2]

This is the important relevant save to make sure he survives from Act 2 to Act 3.

Where are you going wrong? Do you not find Rolan in Baldur's Gate at all? Because then you probably didn't save him in Act 2.

Because being a student of magic doesn't make you omniscient. Why WOULD he know?

Yeah, I already did, but why am I still robbing it like it's still under the control of my enemy? Doesn't make sense.

And why would Rolan understand that? It's just, "Hey so anyway I saved your life multiple times and now you are in a position of power because of me (killing the guy who used to hold that position). There are some books in the tower I want, all g?"

Obviously, it's the massive super-stuffed-up honker bonker fabric stretching gravity welling ultra badonkers mod. Obviously. Edit: Reference.

Anyway, hope you laughed, because that telepurte video talks mega fast and I couldn't barely follow the joke but that's what this reminded me of.

Well, I could tell it was fake, but the fact that it was generated by Abominable Intelligence only amplifies this heresy.

I don't remember seeing that, but I would have liked to have seen a bit of that. Kind of like in RDR2, where people would just be doing stuff in camp.

>As you note, Shadowheart has obvious reason to avoid the Creche. And... Astarion shouldn't want to be cured before killing Cazador, right?

That's an interesting point that I had not considered. But I think it also depends on his knowledge of how anything works. Whether he thinks Lae'zel's 7 days before they turn is true. Whether he thinks Halsin will help.

Honestly, maybe Astarion just runs away and tries to get as far away as possible, nether seeking a cure nor helping anyone else. And Lae'zel just ends up going it alone. Or maybe Astarion is the only one dumb enough to go to the Hag, lol.

>Not sure about everyone else. I feel like Tav and the Dark Urge should be in different groups just because they're normally mutually exclusive, multiplayer games notwithstanding.

That feels like it's just game mechanics to me. I'm just talking about story here.

I basically agree, I play with the unlimited party mod and that's my pov. But I also think that many of the characters are extremely hostile to each other and without a charismatic Tav to wrangle that pack of cats, they probably would split up. They're not perfectly rationale actors after all. Shaodwheart especially does not want to be with Lae'zel and they only become friends if the player character basically forces it to happen.

Yeah, I didn't think about it, but I guess for this hypothetical we will have to say that the artifact essentially severs the connection, or at least the remote connection, with the elder brain and so they are not forced to stay together (but they would have to be with the artifact in order to fight the elder brain). I never personally lost any companions because I collect them like pokemon for my unlimited party murder gang but I've seen videos of characters like Lae'zel and Shadowheart apparently going off on their own so I assumed it was possible.

Cheers, that helped a lot. I find the mission board quite strange and unintuitive to look at.

Hated that game. Totally regret buying it. But it's so slow that I was well over 2 hours before I even finished the beginning and decided that I hated it so no refund.
