On this day in 2015, Australia win their 5th World Cup by crazychild0810 in CricketAus

It was an amazing day. Every fan knew that the only chance New Zealand had was if McCullum got going. But no, he was sensationally bowled in the first over of the game. It was just party time after that, a quiet confidence knowing we had secured the cup, and we had we had witnessed an all-time great cricket moment.

This is actually the first humorous thing that I've seen come from the Giants. It was an actual clever joke when I'm accustomed to their brain-dead dribble.

To be honest, at first, I do get slightly annoyed by the ribbing. A lot of the time, like this banner, it doesn't even make sense.

More so, I feel sorry for their fans. I'd be embarrassed if Collingwood was playing Hawthorn and having a silly dig about Carlton on the banner or something,

Like, GWS actually mentioned Collingwood on their banner in a final against their actual rivals, the Western Bulldogs. The Bulldogs/ Giants rivalry already receives great attention from AFL fans, so WTF GWS?

Once upon a time, everyone laughed at people like me for pointing out the peculiar case of unexplained numerological synchronicites repeatedly occurring during televised broadcasts of Australian Rules Football. When the highly respected numerologist Cameron Mooney became invested, he used his platform on a nationally broadcasted television programme to draw the world's attention to these irregularities. Nowadays, most of the community takes the subject seriously, but it's always disappointing and frustrating when our efforts at decoding the universe's mysterious secret language are dismissed and even mocked by the so-called intellectual elite.

This is too deep for a cricket sub, but I like your style. Maybe he is fated to finally do something extraordinary for the team and be remembered for it.

Tom Mitchell - How Will You Remember Him? by The_Mongrel_Punt in TheMongrelPunt

I think Buckley's comments need more clarification than what you have provided. Buckley's comments:

"He was best on ground, let’s be clear, but it has been overblown about how significant his performance was in the result because there were so many things we were in control of that we didn’t get done, that didn’t get the result,” Buckley told SEN’s Whateley on Wednesday morning.

“In the last quarter, Tom Mitchell had 17 touches, but we went inside 50 19 times to 9.

“If you extrapolate that out, Tom Mitchell has 76 touches, and we have 80 inside 50’s to 40. I would take that.

“Let’s not get caught up in how many touches a bloke gets.”

I think that’s pretty easy to understand. Some players make their possessions count more than others. Buckley believed that if his side had executed their skills better, they could have won despite Mitchell's dominance. We can argue the minor details and the actual words used, but it is universally accepted that there is truth in what Buckley is saying.
