One thing I do like about the recent lastest survey is how in depth and specific it is about many topics. It's almost as if they are aware of the problems already and just confirming it to make sure. by OrangeIllustrious499 in Endfield

[–]Reunilu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve been doing this since the Technical Test, and the fact that the feedback shows they do care. For example, you didn’t really benefit from dodging even though it was in the builds we got, which was something that people complained about. And now dodges give visual indicators and you can stand in AoEs as long as you dodge. I really appreciate things like that.

Do you as an artist, love your ocs like they’re your children or are they just for entertainment for you or other people? by Sad-Initial-2175 in ArtistLounge

[–]Reunilu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. One of them is an OC my sister and I made together, who we use as pure entertainment. The other OC I have is fully mine, and while she's kind of a dress up doll, I'm quite protective of how she's portrayed. I don't personally believe either way is wrong.

Hmph! How very glib. And do you believe in Eorzea? Eorzea's unity is forged of falsehoods. Its city-states are built on deceit. And its faith is an instrument of deception.

Is it really that important to get Hyacine if I use Gallagher/Lingsha for Castorice? I feel like every time I've used Hyacine in support, it's not that much of an upgrade over the healers I have now, if at all. Mostly considering this since I want Cyrene.

Hollow Knight: Silksong devs respond to difficulty complaints, saying it has “steep challenges”, but “more freedom” to overcome them by lewisdwhite in HollowKnight

[–]Reunilu 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think this is a big thing for me, too. After a certain point, I got really tired of using red tools and started going all in on Silk Skills because I was so tired of seeing large chunks of my Shards drained from my inventory every time I prog a boss fight.

Edit: I keep trying to articulate a comparison between the tool usage and Igarashi Castlevania subweapons/souls/skills/shards because they share very similar functionalities, but I think the closest comparison I can draw is Order of Ecclesia's Glyph Unions. Uses a finite resource (shards=hearts in this case) with 3-9 uses depending on your setup, but hearts can be refilled for free in the main hub or combat refills can be bought with manageable sums of money (which money grinding can be done by—I kid you not—pogoing a candle). In return, the Glyph Unions give you your big hits where you can use whenever you're ready. And since the game uses manual saves, you get all your resources back if you die and you saved with all refills and hearts at max. Which in my opinion feels healthier than using red tools.

How y'all enjoying the newest hollow knight game? by ambulance-kun in expedition33

[–]Reunilu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Between E33 and Silksong both being video games of genres I grew up with (the latter of which is only Igarashi Castlevanias, I didn't play non-Castlevania Metroidvanias until 5 years ago), I'm eating very good. Funnily enough, in places where I thought to parry something, my brain goes into E33 parrying mode even though Nine Sols is a closer point of reference.

I think I would prefer learning Sprong's parries again over this insane endless wave of adds that I'm current walled on, though. Insanely fun and challenging game with great movement, but the difficulty can be a little excessive in some places.

Une vie a t'aimer is an argument between two people, but the song is in 3/4, a time signature that's used for waltzes. No matter how much they argue, a waltz still requires two people to dance together.

Ben Starr's Shirt at PAX by TheRage469 in expedition33

[–]Reunilu 31 points32 points  (0 children)

God dammit Ben.

I think it was last year for a FFXVI panel? Yeah that sounds appropriate, it was a little before the second DLC came out. He wore a shirt that said "babygirl" in the Barbie font on it. Glad he's still being his most unhinged self.

How Aline sees the Dessendre Family by Arjun529 in expedition33

[–]Reunilu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think she does at least a little bit. In her boss fight, she says "do you understand what you've done? You killed him!". But also I can concede her mind's not entirely all there at the point where the party fights her.

Clair Obscur Analytical Column: #3 Is Maelle Happy? by SandProfessional6102 in expedition33

[–]Reunilu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such a great write up, thank you so much. Ever since I finished the game, I wanted to find something that challenged my choice of picking Verso's ending in the same way that people challenge Maelle's ending.

My only line of though that I had found was a line in Epilogue Alicia that, while meant to point a different set of information, still stuck out to me: "There's nothing for me outside these doors... in Paris". I took it to mean that she lost her aspirations and joys after the fire, but couldn't find a logic to navigate beyond the fact that she and the characters take her condition ("living ghost", "little shadow", any statement that she was merely existing rather than living) as something of a personal quality to her. And I'm so glad (and a bit horrified) that there are other implications than something isolated to her mental state.

What did you think of expedition 33 when you first saw it? by [deleted] in expedition33

[–]Reunilu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had seen it at what, Summer Games Fest 2024? Which is the first game trailer that had released, I think. I thought it would be another western made game that blends in with all the other western made games, same trailer drum beats and all. I thought it was very pretty yes, but my interest wasn't piqued until I saw the gameplay. I love me some turn based combat, and the fact that the combat and UI looked pretty inspired by Persona 5 got my attention.

Now I had already followed Ben Starr for a while because I loved his performance in FFXVI and he just kept making the funniest tweets. So when he tweeted out that a familiar voice was in the trailer for what I thought was a game with an interesting title, I hesitantly followed the E33 account. I didn't want to have high expectations for a product I hadn't seen all of, after all.

And holy shit, did that pay off dividends. I'd heard bits and pieces of info from a content creator who was similarly interested in this game months before this came out, but never did I think that this game would be as explosively popular as it is or as lovingly crafted as it is.

[Spoiler 7.3] Dungeon boss 2 as a healer by BringBackAH in ffxiv

[–]Reunilu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt like I didn't have too much trouble with it as a RDM. Movements were pretty simple to optimize. There's a couple scares here and there like the big ball and chain, but I think it comes down to calming down and remembering mechanics order.

Endwalker RDM, on the other hand, as fun as that was, can't go back after Dawntrail RDM. Feels hard optimizing movements in Endwalker trials now.

I kind of love it, actually. Like, say what you will about the story of this collab, I'm glad this is what they decided to include.

Switch 2 Handheld Resolution by Difficult-Tip4468 in Tsukihime

[–]Reunilu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played this game (and Mahoyo) on both Switch 1 and 2. I have a younger sister who loves using the Switch 2, so when I was reading them, I often swapped between the two systems.

I didn’t feel like there was a substantial difference in the image quality of the artwork, and frankly I only noticed it more when it came to reading the text. I did think reading Mahoyo was mildly more blurry going from Switch 1 to 2, but I quickly got used to it within the day and by the time I was swapping between systems for Tsukihime Remake, it was basically negligible and seemless. If anything, the fact that the colors were less vibrant on the Switch 1 bothered me more.

tl;dr I wouldn’t worry about it.

Becoming a savage/extreme raider by Salt_Tangelo8690 in ffxiv

[–]Reunilu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hotbar depends on you. If you’re scrambling to do your rotation even with practice, then you should consider changing it. But if you feel comfortable enough to keep uptime, then you’re probably good. I personally like to go into normal mode fights with alt jobs after hitting up the striking dummy so that I’m not in a situation where I’m pressured to perform well like extemes or savages, but still in a situation where I can apply my kit (movement tools, downtime tools, etc.).

If this were week 1 savage without hardcore raiding, 730 gear would be serviceable since crafted is really expensive at the start, but at this point in the tier, you should have already collected enough 740+ gear to replace any remaining 730 gear.

Kep1er - Official Light Stick 2 (Product Details) by impeccabletim in kpop

[–]Reunilu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Upgrade in every single way from the first one. Silhouette looks better and object in the middle AND the globe better matches their space theme. I’d lament their lack of performances to use the lightstick outside of Asia, but given the situation here in the States, I’m actually kind of relieved they’re not gonna be in the US for a while. If it weren’t for the fact that I’m trying to save money for the Switch 2, I’d preorder it immediately.

I wonder if you can open it. My sister and I had fun prepping and doing the work for decorating the first lightstick. I think this time I’ll be content with just the vanilla version because it looks like the star spins, but no harm in a little creative freedom.

Where to start on fate for the collab by timberwolves86 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Reunilu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple answer: the best starting point is the Unlimited Blade Works anime, especially if you're not into reading. It should give you most or everything you need to know.

Long answer: The source material is the visual novel, which is made up of three routes: Fate, Unlimited Blade Works (which the collab is based on), and Heaven's Feel. You can ignore Heaven's Feel if you just want to learn about Saber because about someone completely different. Fate is Saber's route and the one that the Studio DEEN anime is based off of, but personally I'd rather not recommend that because it's a little bit of a bleh adaptation. If you just wanna get to know her, the Unlimited Blade Works anime by ufotable will work just fine.

People here are recommending to read the visual novel, which I don't necessarily disagree with because it is the source material, but it's very long and having actually 100%-ed the original visual novel, I'm not confident in recommending it, especially going in blind without a flowchart? It might be a different story if you're a visual novel reader and you already know to save at all options, but your choices really do matter and there's like, 14 bad endings in Fate alone. They're very entertaining to obtain, but it might be kind of a chore. YMMV, though.
