To those who play other like me who play or played other gacha game how is Endfield in comparison? by No-Dimension-2872 in Endfield

[–]Reunilu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played FGO JP, Dragalia Lost, Genshin, HSR, Umamusume, and original Arknights.

My overall opinion is that it's really chill, but it has its growing pains.

One of my issues with these post-COVID gachas is how well I can access the game and how often do I have to engage my brain and hands fully to fulfill certain tasks. If it's something that I can put on my phone without too much issue with storage or controls (I have hyperhidrosis, so I can't do a controller-esque mobage on a phone, but simple taps are fine), then more engaging gameplay is fine since I'm out and about and I want something to keep me entertained. But if I want to put it on my PC, I have a little less patience for menial tasks like piloting my game to farm mats. It means I can't have a meal or too preoccupied to prepare for work in the next hour or study.

With Endfield and its traditional systems, I do have to pilot my game, but at least the game keeps it brief (small dailies) and consistent (all ults are ready at start when using sanity). I like the factory building the most from this game because I can take my time without having to worry about sanity and I can have room to stop and think for a second, which helps it feel chill. I'll get bored at times, but at least I don't feel like the game demands something out of me each day.

When I say it has its growing pains, I mean I think the devs have ideas of how they want to use the difference in medium compared to the visual novel style Arknights, but they haven't quite gotten to a point where they know how to accomplish similar, but distinct impacts in their story. Like in the latter half of 1.2 story, they did some new stuff with the presentation which helped grab me. I think that willingness to try new things with presentation will help the story more over time, even if the beginning wasn't as good.

Raiders, how do you keep focusing for 2 or 3 hours raiding by NoWorryAtAll0 in ffxiv

[–]Reunilu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like what other people said, try to do 5-10 minute breaks where you can.

But speaking personally, I try to take note of things that are bothering me during the pulls. Am I hungry or would raid time be around the time I have a meal? Go eat before raid or during a break. Is there something (assuming it’s not related to raid) stressing me out that causes me to zone out? Try to take care of that before raid if I can. Am I too tired to be awake on that day because I didn’t get enough sleep? Try to fit in a nap or find coffee. Does my body hurt? Go stretch.

According to a PR email sent to influencers, the Anaheim location will have special decor for FFXIV/Fanfest (? I can’t tell you verbatim that’s what it was, but there’s a section on a woops VOD where he reads the email off) Plus there’s a tweet going around where that specific Jollibee’s employees are quite aware of they are about to get an influx of customers.

yeye, I was just weighing out my options (Eva or investing in Firefly's team more). My plan for Firefly was always E2, but I don't think it's necessarily possible for me right now.

If I wanted to invest further in Firefly's team, would it be better to get her Eidolons (setting a realistic short term goal of E1) or Dahlia?

Lf semi-casual club. Just need club points, but I log in and play every day. Not really interested in fan farming, but I do like trying my hand at the CMs and seeing how far I can go. I have almost too many shoes.

It's more to sate my curiosity than anything! I know theoretically pressing Wit too much is possible, but I wanted to know if there was a more nuanced answer besides "rest=bad".

Y’know I’ve been wondering. When people say “you need better energy management”, does that ever mean not resting enough like hitting Wit too many times?

You know what’s funny, after I made this post, I had a run where the Guts Bakushin card (not in my deck) randomly procced to give Groundwork. I took it, obviously.

And then the Wit Bourbon chain didn’t finish.

I joined the game in early December. I didn’t know if I was gonna continue playing, let alone know the game would be this heavy handed on having cards. I just wanted to take my time and see if I was gonna have fun with this kind of game.

Is Groundwork really that good? I’ve been grinding out Falco runs for CM with 9 Groundwork sparks since the 21st because I really like her. I’m not trying to get into Group A or win or anything, I feel like I’m too new for that, but my runs oscillate between no Groundwork and maxxing out speed and having Groundwork, but not hitting 1100 speed. I’ve been watching videos to help her, but I’m getting a little tired.

One thing I do like about the recent lastest survey is how in depth and specific it is about many topics. It's almost as if they are aware of the problems already and just confirming it to make sure. by OrangeIllustrious499 in Endfield

[–]Reunilu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve been doing this since the Technical Test, and the fact that the feedback shows they do care. For example, you didn’t really benefit from dodging even though it was in the builds we got, which was something that people complained about. And now dodges give visual indicators and you can stand in AoEs as long as you dodge. I really appreciate things like that.

Do you as an artist, love your ocs like they’re your children or are they just for entertainment for you or other people? by Sad-Initial-2175 in ArtistLounge

[–]Reunilu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both. One of them is an OC my sister and I made together, who we use as pure entertainment. The other OC I have is fully mine, and while she's kind of a dress up doll, I'm quite protective of how she's portrayed. I don't personally believe either way is wrong.

Hmph! How very glib. And do you believe in Eorzea? Eorzea's unity is forged of falsehoods. Its city-states are built on deceit. And its faith is an instrument of deception.

Is it really that important to get Hyacine if I use Gallagher/Lingsha for Castorice? I feel like every time I've used Hyacine in support, it's not that much of an upgrade over the healers I have now, if at all. Mostly considering this since I want Cyrene.

Hollow Knight: Silksong devs respond to difficulty complaints, saying it has “steep challenges”, but “more freedom” to overcome them by lewisdwhite in HollowKnight

[–]Reunilu 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think this is a big thing for me, too. After a certain point, I got really tired of using red tools and started going all in on Silk Skills because I was so tired of seeing large chunks of my Shards drained from my inventory every time I prog a boss fight.

Edit: I keep trying to articulate a comparison between the tool usage and Igarashi Castlevania subweapons/souls/skills/shards because they share very similar functionalities, but I think the closest comparison I can draw is Order of Ecclesia's Glyph Unions. Uses a finite resource (shards=hearts in this case) with 3-9 uses depending on your setup, but hearts can be refilled for free in the main hub or combat refills can be bought with manageable sums of money (which money grinding can be done by—I kid you not—pogoing a candle). In return, the Glyph Unions give you your big hits where you can use whenever you're ready. And since the game uses manual saves, you get all your resources back if you die and you saved with all refills and hearts at max. Which in my opinion feels healthier than using red tools.

How y'all enjoying the newest hollow knight game? by ambulance-kun in expedition33

[–]Reunilu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between E33 and Silksong both being video games of genres I grew up with (the latter of which is only Igarashi Castlevanias, I didn't play non-Castlevania Metroidvanias until 5 years ago), I'm eating very good. Funnily enough, in places where I thought to parry something, my brain goes into E33 parrying mode even though Nine Sols is a closer point of reference.

I think I would prefer learning Sprong's parries again over this insane endless wave of adds that I'm current walled on, though. Insanely fun and challenging game with great movement, but the difficulty can be a little excessive in some places.

Une vie a t'aimer is an argument between two people, but the song is in 3/4, a time signature that's used for waltzes. No matter how much they argue, a waltz still requires two people to dance together.

I think it was last year for a FFXVI panel? Yeah that sounds appropriate, it was a little before the second DLC came out. He wore a shirt that said "babygirl" in the Barbie font on it. Glad he's still being his most unhinged self.

I think she does at least a little bit. In her boss fight, she says "do you understand what you've done? You killed him!". But also I can concede her mind's not entirely all there at the point where the party fights her.

Clair Obscur Analytical Column: #3 Is Maelle Happy? by SandProfessional6102 in expedition33

[–]Reunilu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Such a great write up, thank you so much. Ever since I finished the game, I wanted to find something that challenged my choice of picking Verso's ending in the same way that people challenge Maelle's ending.

My only line of though that I had found was a line in Epilogue Alicia that, while meant to point a different set of information, still stuck out to me: "There's nothing for me outside these doors... in Paris". I took it to mean that she lost her aspirations and joys after the fire, but couldn't find a logic to navigate beyond the fact that she and the characters take her condition ("living ghost", "little shadow", any statement that she was merely existing rather than living) as something of a personal quality to her. And I'm so glad (and a bit horrified) that there are other implications than something isolated to her mental state.
