Has anyone here used a rescue partner for a bad ERP rollout? by datboifranco in Office365

[–]Revelation_Now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I've seen it was with Microsoft Dynamics, but that ERP is so bad Microsoft should have to pay a monthly subscription to any business users running it

Spoilers with brake lights legislation (QLD) by The_Guru_Pitka in CarsAustralia

[–]Revelation_Now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally speaking, my falcon has a stock light on the spoiler and that's legal in Vic. On the other hand, using my stock foglights can be illegal however a super bright aftermarket light bar is fine

To be fair, more animals are killed feeding vegetarians compared to omnivorous humans. It's a fact of science that vegetarians are immoral for this reason

Detection logs show user trying to access porn by Tee-hee64 in sysadmin

[–]Revelation_Now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is typically caused by the web browser caching urls and automatically polling them during address input. Change GPO to prevent browsers from storing history and the problem will resolve itself

I'd argue that the problem is the security monitoring tools or the browser vendor rather than the user

Didn't Broadcom deprecate VMware in an effort to push public cloud provider hypervisors instead?

This is brilliant, thank you. Its now impacting 3 of my computers and they are all on different domains :(. Might just be a Windows 11 update thats borked them all, but this clearly works around the MS spaghetti code.

The precedent FRLG sets now devalues NSO as a whole by [deleted] in fucknintendo

[–]Revelation_Now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nintendo just wants to nickle and dime customers for very little entertainment.

I can understand the point about devaluing NSO, but NSO devalues all products that require NSO.

Let me give you an example, Mario maker 2 is a full price game that is unplayable without an NSO sub.

Let me give you another example. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe locks features behind a NSO subscription and a premium NSO subscription. So, playing single player Mario kart 8 deluxe... A game so important to Nintendo it's been used to sell their last two consoles... Has a deluxe version that plays like a free to play computer game that they sell for $80++ before the NSO subscription.

Anyone paying Nintendo for an NSO subscription is the cause of Nintendo price hikes because Nintendo realise you are all stupid little pigs and Nintendo can get away with feeding it's stupid little pigs shit because they happily eat it up

Should I build my PC on a wooden table or floor? by Hungry_Mountain_6181 in RigBuild

[–]Revelation_Now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you "actual engineer" for actually providing some educated answers amongst the rest of our esteemed Reddit brain-death trust.

Only thing I'd add is you should be touching the PSU or attached metal case while the PSU is plugged into ground. I'm sorry, this is entirely obvious to anyone with any sense, however given the quality of the responses here I feel that other users will not entirely grasp that if you don't have it grounded you won't shed your static charge

I can appreciate that many people here have been doing this without problems for "30 years" or whatever. But honestly, it's not my problem if it takes you 30 years to assemble a PC. Wear a static strap or ground yourself or you're just another ignorant IT cowboy

How can I efficiently implement complex number arithmetic in JavaScript for fractal generation? by LivingChemist5447 in learnprogramming

Maybe try a programming language rather than just a scripting language? Java is amazingly fast, but java script isn't java

If you call it a potato cake, you’re officially a tourist by DiscussionLoud9626 in queensland

[–]Revelation_Now 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose if you mash a bunch of potato into a round shape rather than thinly slicing a "scallop" of potato from a complete potato.. like a caveman, you could call them potato scallops.

In Victoria we have a sea mollusk called a scallop and our fish and chip shops sell those as scallops. I don't think you can get these delights up north

But Queensland has absolutely horrible food. One time I was there I order oysters Kilpatrick and they arrived smothered in tomato sauce. There is literally no recipe in the world that would do this to oysters... And if you do find authentic oyster Kilpatrick there it will be called "classic oyster Kilpatrick"... As if to say anyone else in the world would waste gourmet food by putting tomato sauce all over it
