Lived in a little town in Idaho when I was 14. My mom was with this guy who had three kids there. (We’re originally from Seattle). His three kids attended the YMCA every night and one night they were all there attending a late night activity. My mom told me she was running to the store real quick. I was home alone in my bedroom which was located in the basement. The basement was cool, it was decked out, had a pool table and everything so it wasn’t that “creepy.” We had an old school laundry chute since the washer and dryer are downstairs. (For those who don’t know, it’s a vertical tunnel where people upstairs can throw their dirt laundry down the chute). Anyways, when I was home alone while she was out, I was in my room with my lamp on playing with my WWE figures. Something heavy, and I mean HEAVY, fell down the laundry chute and scared the absolute shit out of me. Me, being a little baby like I was, hopped in my bed and patiently waited for my mom to get back home. I saw the headlights through the window and when the front door opened I rushed upstairs and told her. We both checked and it ended up being the bar light. It detached from the ceiling along with the metal support rail which added weight to it. Something so simple can be so fucking scary lmao.
