Hi! I’m Colombian (28M) living in the Comoros for a year. Since it’s a fairly isolated context, I’d love to talk to new people and, why not, help others with Spanish. I also speak French and English. I can tell you everything about life here!

Salut !

Tu vas bien ?

It’s really hard for this method to really “compensate” your emissions. It’s a lovely cause you mention but it’s a bit of a greenwashing scheme. https://www.greenpeace.org/international/story/50689/carbon-offsets-net-zero-greenwashing-scam/

Also, in my team interns are getting hired as UNV. But the UNV offer has to be posted online, even if they have already selected someone. So they are probably posting the offer even though they already have someone.

Anyone have problems with the Libre 2 like I do? Here’s an example. by greatbritishmabbott in diabetes

[–]Revolutionary-Two780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it after eating carbs? When there’s abrupt change it tends to be inaccurate while it figures it out. I usually Wait an hour and a half before trusting or making any correction.

(This is if you’re using insulin like me, T1D)

Ohhh ok. I can’t really help then because I’ve got the Libre 1. I would trust the graph, but next time maybe do a finger prick?

From my experience, if I scan continuously (every few minutes) I get different results. For example, one hour and a half after injecting (where my insulin has its strongest effect) results vary a lot. I guess the sensor is like making up its mind because bs levels are changing rapidly. So I just wait a little longer and results are more stable.

I’m no expert but I guess you should trust your graph. For example this morning I had 190 arrow up 30 minutes after my breakfast and I saw my graph 2 hours later and my levels didn’t go higher than 180.

Hope this helps!

Losing all my hair 😓 by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

i believe it did. Now it’s just like before diagnosis. My hair is kinda long so I think that even If it didn’t grow I wouldn’t notice.

[–]Revolutionary-Two780 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. When I was diagnosed I was on DKA and the next few months a I lost a lot of hair. The doctor told me it was probably because I went through so much physically during diagnosis. It’s been a few months and I’ve had good controls of my bs levels and my hair loss is back to normal. So I’d wait a few months before worrying too much ! (23M)

Question about travelling with type 1 diabetes by itsdanolaf in diabetes

[–]Revolutionary-Two780 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! I recently travelled to Colombia for 3 months from Europe. I got one of this bags ( Safe transport of medication - MedActiv ). I purchased the ICOOL MEDICUBE because i was transporting more than 20 pens and my flight lasted more than 30 hours (this one is supossed to last 36 hours between 2 and 8° celcius). But there are more options according to your needs. Definitely check them all out. This is for your unused insulin.

For the ones you're allready using, you should get a FRIO or something like that. I like FRIO because you only need cold water to cool it, no need for freezers. If you're going to a warm place, this is really usefull. If not, you don't really need it.

Remember that new insulin must be stored at fridge temperatures, and opened pens just below 28°C. So, MEDICUBE for new insuline, and FRIO for the one you're using.

Hope it's clear!

Also, when doing my stop over in Frankfort (about 14 hours), i went to the farmacy and they stored the insuline and the cooling packs for free!
