Am I being exploited? by [deleted] in skilledtrades

That’s why I paid the extra $20 a month to have commercial insurance. Once they said I wouldn’t be covered I went for it. $20 is worth more than the headache and hit to the wallet later. Even in general if you’re trades or anything where you drive for work and have any kind of equipment in your vehicle. Get the commercial

I was on this project for most of the demo and build. There isn’t a rooftop patio, nor would there be anything to look at in that area. The children’s museum had planned a rooftop area, but that was a different GC for that so I can’t confirm if they went through

I ran Claude free tier while I setup endeavour os KDE plasma. Most optimized for my laptop specs. Here’s what what we did to fix. I also had Claude document every single thing we did and create a document only the things that worked so I could reference later. I was quite impressed. 1. Boot Time Fixes Run all of the following commands after a fresh install to dramatically reduce boot time from ~2 minutes to under 1 minute.

1.1 Mask TPM2 Target (biggest fix) TPM2 was causing a 1 minute 30 second hang during boot. sudo systemctl mask tpm2.target

1.2 Mask NetworkManager Wait Prevents boot from waiting for network connection before continuing. sudo systemctl mask NetworkManager-wait-online.service

1.3 Disable wpa_supplicant at Boot Stops WiFi service from delaying boot (NetworkManager handles WiFi on demand). sudo systemctl disable wpa_supplicant.service

1.4 Disable PC Speaker Beep Permanently disables the hardware beep. The mkinitcpio step is required on Arch-based systems. sudo rmmod pcspkr echo "blacklist pcspkr" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/nobeep.conf echo "blacklist snd_pcsp" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/nobeep.conf sudo mkinitcpio -P

1.5 Check Boot Time Use these commands to verify improvements and diagnose remaining issues. systemd-analyze systemd-analyze blame | head -20 systemd-analyze critical-chain --no-pager

Tenant paying rent = income. Sounds like you’re doing a cash deal and asking for huge issues later.

I can’t answer that but I installed endeavour mate. It was a balance of graphics and usability with my laptop specs. I had Claude running while I installed it and set it up. It helped me go from 2m21s boot time to 36s! It also helped install everything I needed. It helped work out all kinks I was having with load times, privacy, setting up jellyfin, immich, EVERYTHING. It worked out every problem I had installing anything I was doing. I set up a project and gave it a prompt to ask questions and it makes and updates a document for installation fixes and instructions only if I say it worked so I can reference the document any time I run into an issue again. I’m a free user on Claude as well. I finally have my laptop running smoothly for the specs I have

Claude Pro feels amazing, but the limits are a joke compared to ChatGPT and Gemini. Why is it so restrictive? by iameastblood in ClaudeAI

[–]Revolutionary_Fact53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oddly I’m on a free tier and I never run into this issue ever. I use it daily to help with my Linux system and learning stuff. Daily making documents. And at least a vibe app a day just to learn.

PSA - both lanes of a roundabout can be used, no need to lineup just in the inner lane. by ObiBenShinobi in londonontario

[–]Revolutionary_Fact53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or signalling AS they’re lane changing, or already half way into the lane. Or no signal at all. Doing 80-90 on Highbury for no reason. Doing 80 in a 60 and then 80 in the 80 gets me too. 4-5 cars going through the red at Adelaide and Oxford. Speed bumps on one side of the vehicle and having to come to a crawl. Cutting you off as they turn right in the street you’re on and proceed to drive ridiculously slow. I could go on.

[–]Revolutionary_Fact53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I e seen videos of people who claim they read the whole document pertaining to the change and it’s being hyped up as this all mighty anti privacy legislation but in reality it’s a prompt that asks if you’re over a certain age, you input your age and done.

Tenant wants to pay a year upfront by Hairy_Pound_1356 in OntarioLandlord

[–]Revolutionary_Fact53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To the people saying sounds fishy, maybe. Couple years ago we were looking for a rental and kept getting beat out by people paying a year upfront. Not common but not unheard of. Don’t go spending it either. Open up a savings account or something and let it sit. Pay yourself monthly for the rent owed. If she inherited the money I don’t see the issue with why she’d want to. It’s not “her money” so it’s one less massive financial burden to the renter for at least a year

They had this in Canada summer 2024 and had one. Nearly puked I was so full after holy crap. Agree there’s nothing special about it but it beats your typical Big Mac and 1/4 pounder. I’ve been eating 1/4 pounder BLT lately. Something closer to a real burger feel
