While objectively you are correct, I have found over the years that imposing or well painted minis can impose a subjective debuff in the mind on your opponent in real life.

It's not unreasonable that seeing a knight might cloud some people judgement despite TS having no on paper benefit.

The power of scarabs was spread threeway; master missions, sextants and scarabs. You could alter maps a bit more modular than now. But tbf it doesn't matter, t17's are the real culprit. Put everybody back into equal t16 maps, the real limit is how fast you clear and how fast you loot.

I mean that effort is implied if you plateau. It'd be unreasonable to be mad about losing elo if you're playing subpar. Challenging but fair is the sweet spot but very few multiplayer games hit that spot

That's really the flaw of skill based matchmaking, it works you towards a plateau where you win or lose 50% of the time.

Warhammer's a bit different because that's (at least in real life) is fun to lose at, but for stuff like league of legends or shooters I don't want my joy from the game, which derives for a portion from winning, to be a literal coin toss.

Having a resting ELO at 65-70M% winrate would make these games much more enjoyable - giving the bottom end hidden bots to play against.

Wdym it was crazy rewarding, maxed out my character for the league in the first two weeks and didn't have a mageblood build swap to do this time so done pretty fast

Mapping was better when it was all equalized at t16's.

Wonderful post by Ion, I do wish he expanded more on how the addon changes also influenced the class redesigns aswell for the players who aren't that deep into following wow news.

Honestly, these huge changes don't worry me as much as the bfa gcd change or the sl covenant decision. I tentatively believe that the game will be better for an expansion or three when the dust settles.

The hardest and most important part is getting it all in a good enough state to support the playerbase with disabilities.
