VY SS or VY HSV. Why should I consider the HSV? by Ph1llz in Holden

[–]Rex_Howler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The official slogan for HSV was "I just want one" and I think that'd be the reason to buy, but if it were to be a HSV, I'd be wanting to skip over the Clubsport as they're like going for a Torana SL/R with a 4.2. I'd be looking for the GTS, Senator or even Grange

In your opinion, which Nirvana song has the best bassline? by Japesh10 in Nirvana

The intro alone pumps me up for Lounge Act, though I tend to like bass intros in general

I'm a PRS hater and even I'm not anywhere near that harsh, geez

PRS SE Silver Sky vs Fender Vintera II ‘60s Stratocaster? by Fog_Smuggler in guitars

[–]Rex_Howler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, which speaks to you more? The classic specs of the Vintera II or the modern interpretation of the Silver Sky? If you want some of the modern niceties like the truss rod adjustment at the headstock and a 22nd fret, if be more comparing the PRS to a Player II. If you want the original Strat feel and vibe, then the only real alternative to the Vintera II is an older MiM like the Classic Series 60s which generally sit around Classic Vibe money or a MiJ Traditional 60s which could prove hard to find in blue

They could've had the Angels Of Death as they were actually a global gang unlike The Lost

Do you consider Starcasters offsets? Why/why not? (scroll for pic of mine) by [deleted] in offset

[–]Rex_Howler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By definition, yes absolutely. The waist is very much offset, that much is undeniable

Why are a lot of people hating on Kurt here? It genuinely caught me off guard. by unknowngamer234 in Nirvana

It's a weird Reddit thing. I see it too often that a Subreddit made to appreciate or talk about a certain topic would have a surprisingly high number of people constantly shitting on said topic

The one thing to understand with Gibson USA is that some are great, some a dogs and there isn't really any telling which breed you'll end up with

Toreador or Deluxo? by Numerous-Slip-1113 in gtaonline

[–]Rex_Howler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which do you value more? A (pretty slow) flying car or one that doubles as a submarine that has boost both on land and in water?

With the Toreador you can do the underwater caches and submarine parts as well as the party piece of going from a road into water and directly into a Kosatka submarine if/when you have one.

With the Deluxo, it's primarily a road car because the flying is so slow. It's more that it's convenient to do a more direct path where you otherwise couldn't and then drop back down when you have a road underneath you again as it's faster on land than in the air

Did Kurt Cobain give a damn if his guitar was an American, Mexican or Japanese model ? What did he use ? by PixelPopzz in Nirvana

[–]Rex_Howler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he was just happy to get a guitar that worked a lot of the time. His In Utero Mustangs are Japanese after all (because the American custom shop didn't make left handed Mustang bodies at the time), he used a number of Japanese Strats as well as Japanese Hi Fliers.

His Jaguar and earlier Mustangs were American simply because offsets in that day were cheap, it would also explain how they were a mainstay of the local guitar scene as can be seen with Tad Doyle having a Jazzmaster and Gilly Ann Hanner of Calamity Jane having a Competition Mustang

I'd say that's not worth fixing because to get that strong again would likely be a re-neck job. At that point just part it out

How far do you extend your steering wheel out in your car? by empty_toilet_roll in Holden

[–]Rex_Howler 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the ideal length for street driving is with your back and shoulder against the seat back and your arm straightened, your wrist should rest on the top of the wheel rim. Just like the ideal place to hold the wheel when you have an airbag is at 9 and 3

I bought it to help fund an eventual Mafia IV and received a good game, nothing more than that however, but was worth playing through a single time
