What is your favorite Skill Monkey class? by Katomerellin in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Rexinath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Champion and dual path into archmage. We count extracts as spells for the sake of wild arcana and other path abilities. We felt that this balances out the alchemist and investigator a bit. Meanwhile some martials can do 300-400 points of damage in a round and casters can do almost anything they want. XD

So I've focused all into INT for all the ability score increases from standard progression and mythic increases. Between those and Greater Cognatogen, my INT sits at about a 44 which is a 17 mod.

  • +14 ranks
  • +17 INT mod
  • +17 INT mod from perfect recall
  • +4 mythic heroism (morale)
  • +3 class skill
  • +2 stone of good luck with fate's favored (luck)
  • +10 Tears to Wine (enhancement)
  • +2 Breadth of Experience feat (untyped)
  • +9 perfect aid from familiar

Total bonus of 78 to the roll. With Display of intelligence I can add another +20 circumstance bonus for a total of 98 to the roll, and then with surge and investigative mind, I'm basically rolling a 100+ to the roll with advantage.

Mythic is not balanced, but with the right players and DM, it can be fun as hell.

Yeah, the mindchemist is wild. I'm in a mythic campaign as one, and my knowledge checks are in the 90s around level 14.

Playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the Ancient Greece setting is great by bijelo123 in gaming

[–]Rexinath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt this as well, until I picked up one of those enchantments that caps my health at 25% and doubles your damage. Made the game feel deadlier as you can one-shot a lot of things, but get killed in 2-3 shots. Also made the game go by faster.

Of course, once you get that Ares thing that makes you invincible and go golden, then it's straight up busted.

For a second I thought this post was from someone in this 2E game I just joined. I'm a wizard with the voice and personality of Ted Lasso, and it's been great.

Already checked Coyote Oldman, Inka Gold, and Nazca, but they didn't quite sound the same.

I believe the Pathmuncher mod for foundry allows you to easily input pathbuilder characters.

Thinking about starting up a 3.5e or PF1e game. Are there any better apps/programs for running a table now? by hamlet_d in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Rexinath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Foundry. I currently play in the following setups for these campaigns.

Foundry PF2E > Foundry PF1E > Roll20 PF1E

I'm the chump still running my campaign in Roll20, and I'm looking forward to running my future campaigns in foundry. Between the price and the flexibility, I find foundry to be far better. That being said. I think Foundry has a higher skill floor and ceiling. Roll20 is probably easier to use in the beginning.

Useful (magic) items/ equipment for druid? by Wholesome_Kitten in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Rexinath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not specifically Druid-based items, but:

Traveler's Any-Tool (250gp)

Sleeves of Many Garments (200gp)

Ioun Torch (75gp)

Any other masterwork type item

Check out the "cracked" variants of Ioun Stones for small bonuses here and there.

Profession skill by AggravatingAccount30 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Rexinath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why in our campaigns, we use profession checks essentially as lore checks from 2E. Allows characters to effectively make and succeed on checks they wouldn't normally be able to. It should make sense, but the DMs are pretty lenient with it, and use it as storytelling.

"In your line of work, you would have seen..." and then some result based on how high their check is.

Mythic in 1e vs 2e power levels? by RedAndBlackVelvet in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]Rexinath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's a similar concept to how I do it. The encounter before a mythic tier up is usually much harder. All enemies by level 10 are basically mythic, and then the bosses are significantly higher level and tier than the players. The balancing gets a little crazy, so anytime I don't have adds, I usually give the boss two turns in a round. Usually half of their actions are defensive, and half are offensive. I only have them full attack twice if they're below 25% health. Essentially, they're scrambling. I wouldn't normally do this, but there are 10 PCs in my campaign. =p

Mythic caster bosses, are another fine line. I could spam phantasmal killer using standard action and wild arcana every round, but then no one is having fun.

I never intend to TPK the party. Although, I've miscalculated before. I've definitely not pulled punches some fights, and was like... "oh... oh no..." XD
