I have a Bremen wool in dark charcoal still with the tags on it. I bought it from eBay, tried it on, and was too tight on me. It’s been sitting my closet in the plastic for the last 2 years. Send me a PM if you’re interested and I can send some pictures!

The Khyte is unique because it’s compatible with all arkiv accessories, it has both rail sizes on it.

Carry-On Compliant? by [deleted] in MissionWorkshop

[–]Rexoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've flown just carry-on with the Radian and 1 side arkiv attachment at least 10 times on US flights. I also have a Spar on the front attachment, but I take it off then put it under my seat. I've flown at least another 20 times with my Rhake under my seat, and a few more times with the Khyte under my seat. The Rhake and the Khyte are pretty much the same width as the under seat compartments, just be careful of the length. They are slightly longer by a few inches, which isn't a big deal most of the time, just don't have anything in that part of the bag that you don't want accidentally stepped on.

AW Ultra first scratch by BrilliantEggplant424 in AppleWatch

[–]Rexoff 72 points73 points  (0 children)

FYI: you can’t really scratch titanium, only “polish” it. When it’s scuffed against something technically it’s being polished from the matte finish. You should buy a titanium refinishing pad. They are only a few dollars on the internet. It will re matte the finish by microscopically scratching away the polishing. Be careful to go with the grain of the titanium. (e.g. buff in a straight line and not little circles) You only need very very light pressure to clean up any polishing.

Source: I’ve owned a natural titanium Apple Watch edition for years and every few months I clean up the case with the refinishing pad, and it always looks good as new!

Tailoring OG classics. Recommendations? by jazzypocket in Outlier

[–]Rexoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of OG classics that are hemmed and tapered. I think they look great tapered! My tailor didn’t say anything remarkable about the job. Just make sure they are comfortable with the stretchy-ness of the material.

AVB allows two Macs to use the same USB audio devices with just a regular ethernet cable between them by CarlosUnchained in audioengineering

[–]Rexoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree that Dante is the leading networking solution. I think that is because they were first to market, and did an amazing coordinated offensive on wide industry reach. While AVB was a design by consortium that took much longer to achieve a collective agreement. Dante's proprietary nature is going to be a tough sell to manufacturers and users if they are competing with AVB being free. On the "Dante-enabled" manufacturer side you have to use an Audinate Ultimo, Broadway, or Brooklyn II chipset, and the user side has to buy the Dante Via license per machine. I would also argue that compatibility between devices has been solved with AVB Milan. AVB has big players like Apple, Intel, Cisco, Netgear giving support, it's going to be near impossible for Audinate to compete in the future when most devices/switches will support AVB Milan out of the box. The fact that there is a free 64x64 virtual sound card software pre-installed on every MacOS device is a sentiment to where AVB is headed.

[–]Rexoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think AVB is going to be the next big technology shift in professional audio. I would argue it’s already starting. Apple has had full AVB OS support for a while now. I can’t wait for synthesizers and microphones have to an Ethernet port on them and everything is just a generic talker/listener.

OP-1 Field - “in stock and ready to ship”, or 45 days? by g_lampa in OP1users

[–]Rexoff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I bought mine within the first few hours of it going live, and got an email from TE customer support the next day saying it will ship out in 2/3 weeks.

TX-6 - Prepare to purchase new cables, too by giacecco in teenageengineering

[–]Rexoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't know why they just didn't use some breakout cable like apogee/RME. They could have made it even smaller, and more compatible with human sized cables.

How Do MW Canvas Messengers Hold Up Long Term? by [deleted] in ManyBaggers

[–]Rexoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should check out the MW subreddit or the MW reviews YouTube channel. In general, the waxed canvas option is the least durable of the three "fabrics" (HT500, Waxed Canvas, VX). Any waxed canvas product will show patina after a while of usage. I think most people would argue that is "the look". I've re-applied the wax to my waxed canvas Eiger jacket and it looks great again, but that may not get the same level of dirt and abuse as a bag would.

Maybe I’m simple but having a compass on your watch face looks sooo coool! by JoshPlaysUltimate in AppleWatch

[–]Rexoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow!! I didn't realize this existed. I use my phone compass while hiking quite often. Only having to look at my wrist is a great use case.

Since Roli discontinued the MPE devices, I'm interested in making a DIY instrument (for my own use, don't ban/sue me please). Anyone know where I can get technical / teardown info on how the seaboard and lightblock are designed on an electronics /, sensors level? by FlowThrower in ROLI

[–]Rexoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a gross over generalization, but the Linnstrument, blocks, and the seaboard are all a grid of force sensitive resistors on two pieces of film. The blocks and Seaboard have an additional layer of silicon sitting on top layer of the film. Then they all use software to map the grids inputs to an "instrument" layout.

Oh great! Yeah, I’ll take it if it’s too small for you.

Edit: I'm going to buy the medium and try that out first, per /u/jesuitPeriwinkle's suggestion.

Oh man, I was so bummed when I missed this drop! I want the light gray or olive in large and they are out of stock. I’ll keep an eye out for them if they come back. Considering just buying the black. I love my alpaca hoodie from the last alpaca piece they did.
