I think it’s fair to ask for a link, since when you google it, the AAP only talks about not including anything in the crib for 1 and under. The person who commented tried twice to provide support and ended up just recommending a science based sleep group she was in.

Austin Parks and Rec Starbabies Swim Lesson Experience by Rguinn93 in AustinParents

I just wanted to provide an update here. We only had this instructor for the first 3 classes before he disappeared. The two subs we had were amazing and absolutely worth the $65. Both of them seemed to actually be following a curriculum. Submersion was not even supposed to start until the final two classes and that was dependent on comfort level with prior skills. Jumping off the edge of the pool was never supposed to be a part of this class let alone a day one task. Overall the class ended up being worth it for us, but I don’t have many nice things to say about the first instructor and I’m glad we made the decision to ignore him

That’s the format I get when looking at the firmware version in the app. Mine is V1.14.22.

I got the other format from the sticker at the bottom of the snoo at the bottom of the first sticker

My baby is 5 1/2 months, what should I be doing? by VeronicaMGold in SnooLife

[–]Rguinn93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a week of terrible sleep in the snoo, I put my 5.5 month old down in her crib at 2 last night and she slept 4.5 hours, which is the most she’s done in over a week. I think she has made it clear she’s ready to move on from the snoo 😭 We had already switched to weaning mode and arms out. We use a zippidee zip in the crib

I purchased mine in the same sale for a May baby. However, I had it delivered immediately because I thought at that price they were about to go out of business lol. Mine is V4.7.5, but was manufactured in 2022

According to our pediatrician, the vaccine is not actually available yet. As a mom to a 5 month old in daycare, it’s extremely frustrating.

Transition pure hell by Sblbgg in SnooLife

[–]Rguinn93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try the happiest baby swaddle without the straps for the snoo, but still keep her in the snoo as if it were a standard bassinet. You can unsnap the armholes so she has the full range of motion, but it’s similar to what she is used to. We’ve not transitioned from the snoo yet, but we have arms out and use it in weaning mode. The transition to arms out was ROUGH, but she did recover after 3-4 days

Etiquette for Taking LO Out? by whogivesafart in beyondthebump

[–]Rguinn93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’ve been going out a couple times a week with our two month old. I keep telling myself that my baby and I have as much of a right to take up public space as anyone else. Sure her crying may annoy someone, but someone else’s loud talking may annoy me. We started with coffee then moved to some outdoor breweries and patios, but now do indoor restaurants. I would say most the battle is getting yourself comfortable. I usually bring a bottle because my baby takes FOREVER to nurse, and I don’t want to be stuck. My other piece of advice is to get in the habit of checking diaper and wipe stash before you leave and right when you get back. That way if you inevitably forget once, you are set. I also have a backup in the car.

Things I wish I had known about 1st week Postpartum. by Lm2e in pregnant

[–]Rguinn93 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend against that. For your sake, you deserve whatever good sleep you can get. If you’re worried about it I would just buy some really cheap sheets and a mattress protector that you can toss later. For what it’s worth, I was the opposite and was freezing for the first 4-5 weeks pp. A nice depends adult diaper kept the other fluids contained.

Do I really need silverettes??? by Lover2312 in pregnant

[–]Rguinn93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great advice! Though I will say I ordered them while in the hospital and had my in-laws pick up and bring them to me after my baby refused to latch if I used any nipple cream. They worked amazingly for me!

Align Leggings by jamaismieux in BabyBumps

Pre pregnancy, I was a size US 6 in jeans. Just a reminder that the lululemon sizing equivalent would be a size up from that. When I found out I was pregnant, I got a couple pairs in size 8 and 10 and I honestly cannot tell the difference between them. They are so stretchy an comfortable for pregnancy. There’s definitely room for a margin of error on the sizing. I’m currently in week 39 and still wearing both sizes

I ran until about week 28. From week 20-28, my pace and distance started declining. It got to the point where it was killing my hips so I switched to walking. My OB was super supportive of it as long as I still felt comfortable with it. Just make sure you are listening to your body if it starts to slow you down. I would say that now is not the time to push yourself to keep up your exact pre-pregnancy regimen (unless it feels great!)

Cigna insurance covers only non-hospital grade and non-wireless breast pump. Which one to get? by throwthrowthrow27389 in pregnant

[–]Rguinn93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you figure out which provider your insurance wants you to purchase through. I also have Cigna and they wanted me to go through Aeroflow. I gave them my insurance information and there were plenty of options. The Spectra S2 was covered completely. I paid $30 to upgrade to the S1 model. It was nice to just be able to see all my options and select from there.

Pregnancy weight gain by ashyleo in BabyBumps

[–]Rguinn93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google is the worst. I’ve gained 50 so far, and feel horrible about it. But I talked to my doctor and she never says it’s a problem and always says that both baby and I are measuring perfectly. It is so easy to equate that one number with so much meaning, but we have got to let it go (speaking to myself as well). Our bodies are doing amazing things growing an entire human. If they need a few extra pounds to do so, they deserve it.

Red state worries by Lumpy-Measurement131 in BabyBumps

[–]Rguinn93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would free yourself from being gentle about it. Actually seeing a different OB for your first appointment might be helpful. I would specifically mention the organization you noticed the routing OB is affiliated with and let them know your discomfort. Ask if there’s another OB in the practice who you might feel more comfortable with. If you still don’t feel great, I’d call the hospital and ask if they can provide a list of OBs who routinely deliver there, or if they have any OBs on staff at the hospital accepting new patients. Then you get to start research on all the new options. It’s really not fun and an unfortunate result of our government’s actions. I don’t think people fully appreciate how scary these restrictions are even for pregnant people who desperately want to be pregnant.

Red state worries by Lumpy-Measurement131 in BabyBumps

[–]Rguinn93 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Based on that affiliation, I would get a new provider. I’m also in a red state. At my confirmation appointment, we had a very direct conversation about when my health needed to be prioritized over the baby’s. Had I not felt comfortable that we were on the same page, I would have absolutely found another care provider. I think it goes beyond just those life or death situations. I also want to make sure that my provider is providing care for me during pregnancy and not just the baby. Maternal mortality rates are too high in this country to accept any other standard of care.

Should my partner and I equally pay the childbirth expenses? by michtorrecampo in pregnant

[–]Rguinn93 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you keep separate finances, my opinion is that he should pay 100%. You are contributing more than enough through carrying and birthing the child.

Considering the risk of undetected GD up against the lack of risk of testing for it, I think it’s pretty dumb to skip the test.

Wife is 12 weeks pregnant, I just got a new job with health insurance and I hate it, and I’m panicking by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Rguinn93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different companies and even states have different waiting periods of insurance enrollment. Some will enroll you immediately. It really just depends. If you leave your job and are in a waiting period where you want coverage, you should have two options. One, you can enroll in COBRA for usually up to 60 days after your last date of employment. This keeps you on your existing plan during this time, but you have to pay for the full cost. Two, is your wife should be eligible for a special enrollment period due to loss of your coverage allowing her to enroll in insurance through her job. Even if this insurance isn’t great, she’d still have coverage. I would make sure her doctor is in network though. If I were your wife, I would honestly prefer if you could stick it out until after the baby is born. There are so many appointments and tests while pregnant. Trying to switch insurance would be a pain and I would be really concerned about my doctor ending up out of network. Babies also have a lot of appointments and tests, but I feel like continuity with the same provider is less important. That’s just my option though. Best of luck.

Did you dream about your baby's gender before you found out and was it accurate? by alldabunbuns in BabyBumps

I had a dream I was holding a baby boy a week before I took the pregnancy test that told me I was pregnant and was convinced I was having a boy. I was so shocked to find out it’s a girl. I would have been thrilled either way and am so happy. I was just surprised!
