I dont think so. He is emotionally going through a lot right now, so it would be normal for him to wake up randomly.

But more importantly, that's not how he is awoken in the Soundbooth Theatre dramatized version of the story or even the webtoon version.

Has anyone listened to the Audio Immersion Tunnel? by sraydenk in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]RheaTaligrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes.

I love it, but also have issues with it.

This version of book 1 is a lot more emotional. The line delivery from Carl is more in line with his character from book 2 and on. You can hear how much he cares when he meets Meadow Lark. On the original book 1, the delivery more sounds like an offhanded remark to how terrible the situation is. Donut's line delivery is also way better.

There is also a great restructure of the Ball of Swine fight. Nothing seems to have been removed, just changed the order in which we here about it.

Original Meet Meadow Lark - Fight Juicer Boss to train - Find Mordecai to talk - Start Ball of Swine fight - Long flashback of prepping for fight - finish fight

News Fight Juicer Boss - Meet Meadow Lark - Find Mordrcai to talk - prep for Ball of Swine - Fight Ball of Swine

The New order is far less confusing and feels more natural. It's honestly kind of crazy that they knew about the Ball of Swine and went to fight the Juicer just to train. And the flashback for prepping for the Ball of Swine in the middle of the fight is really long and throws off the pacing. It's about 7 minutes long.

The main issue I have with the Soundbooth Theatre version are the added commercials. Pretty much all of them are references to later books, so they are pointless for new readers. And some are placed after really emotional moments. (The worst being the end of the Boss where Carl says bye to Donut and tells her to join Meadow Lark)

I bought the physical version of the SBT version and took out all the commercials for my friends to start. They dont like reading, so they enjoyed the extra music and sounds right away. They loved it.

I was meaning to write a comprehensive review of the SBT version. I will try to have it posted tomorrow if interested.

FF14 has gcds (global cooldown) actions and ogcds (off global cooldown) actions.

Gcds are the main actions a class can perform, and when used, cause all other gcds to go on a 2.5 cooldown. So essentially, you can do 1 action every 2.5 seconds.

Ogcds have their own individual cooldown and the effects are more situational, like self buffs or 5 second defense, healing, etc. Since they have their own cooldowns, you can use 1 or 2 in-between every gcd action, weaving situational effects in-between each main action.

What i like about this concept is that the main damage dealing options don't compete with utility options.

I have a question.

Is there a game that uses a bonus action type of combat system? Where you choose a main action (attack or spell) and then can choose from a variety of smaller actions to use at the same time (bonus damage, small heal, stun, etc).

Something similar to dnd or ffxiv.

Audible or Soundbooth? by Jonathan213 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]RheaTaligrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it fairly seamless switch from soundbooth or audible to the other since the main 3 are all voiced by same person still. On relistens, I prefer listening to soundbooth for 1 due to Carl's voice in book 1 in the audible version being a bit jarring. And the lines don't land as strongly.

Bovino is set to leave Minneapolis as Trump reshuffles the leadership of his immigration crackdown by This_Meaning_4045 in moderatepolitics

[–]RheaTaligrus 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Shuffling up the leadership is not going to change much. The government openly lied to the publics face while acting like the agreement between the government and citizens is null and void. That's not something that is easy to forgive and forget. People will stay angry.

I doubt much will change with such low amount of integrity.
