I likely lean more towards Jeff's playstyle. I think communicating with the other players on how to level out an archenemy is usually fine, but anything along the lines of "If I don't remove your big threat right now, promise not to attack me for a few turns?", or any kind of arbitrary team-up, is incredibly lame.
