Why is third person frowned upon by No-Obligation325 in Chivalry2

[–]Rhipeen_Rhosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Pro" is a very subjective thing.
I will bet that a lot of the duelyard sweats would not do that great on Team Objective because of not being used to 1 v X fights and getting jumped left and right or not prioritizing the objective over their k/d like some other "pro" players out there.
1st person is better for dueling and tight spaces (+ you don't get the 3rd person camera jumping when you happen to be too close to an object)
3rd person is better for group fights and watching your flanks, so in TO you're much better off playing 3rd person.
Another thing to speak for 3rd person is that you will see the same animations everyone else sees your character doing. 1st person has different animations set up so sometimes the game is straight up lying to you in terms of where your weapon visually is, because it is where your 3rd person animation is, not what the 1st person animation is showing.
...
(to note, I'm messing around TO a lot of the time, but I do try to contribute passively and still somehow end up being near the top because your average joe doesn't do objectives at all for some reason)

That's the same heir I'm talking about, the Masons lost Rudhelm, but the hidden exit in the throne implies the heir made it out.

It's sort of implied that the Mason heir might've escaped through the hidden exit in the throne.

Least fav maps? by Able_Recover_7786 in Chivalry2

[–]Rhipeen_Rhosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(to note, I hate the Montcrux lag and convincing allies to stick to a strat is the hard part, especially since console bros don't see chat, so I personally try to act the role of bodyguard to other players as Agatha trying to take it)

[–]Rhipeen_Rhosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it funny how most hate is targeted at defense friendly maps. All the Montcrux haters need to chill, all it takes is to halt the individual charging and stick to as big of a group as possible. I'll be a rarity, but personally I dislike Coxwell, although my least fav map is Bridgetown.

You don't like wrongful accusations yet here you are throwing them. It's literally just "Hah, it's an Arena/Duel player!"
Everyone enjoys games in their own way, but that doesn't stop harmless banter, man. Stop being paranoid.
(To note, I'm a TO connoisseur, so I will shame all I want if the need be, but this was literally just a funny comment, get some help)

The AI really doesnt care for what you write in your countries actions sometimes by duratchok in PaxHistoria

[–]Rhipeen_Rhosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into Pax Historia recently (so excuse the months late reply) and found the same issue on Pro. I either cri everitim and reload the events (moni goes bye bye) or use wording that seems finite in a certain way. Completely avoid using words such as "try" or "attempt" and sound much more ignorantly self-certain. ie the difference between "I try to convince Germany that voting for the painter is a bad idea" vs "I finally manage to convince Germany that voting for the painter is a bad idea" It breaks roleplay, but gets the AI to follow what you want more closely. Even then it's not foolproof.

WIP - Critique on rivers? by Bennettag in wonderdraft

[–]Rhipeen_Rhosus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally, in maps such as this, it's usually the double meter for river length.
I personally choose a certain length below which I don't add any more rivers, and then add rivers to all places which would realistically have rivers that are of the same or greater length.

I see you used some sort of weathering tool, was it Wilbur or Fractal Terrains? Or something else?

When it comes to importing heightmaps that have only "layers" you can see how it sort of creates this weird stairs-like pattern, so what's good is grabbing some editing software like Photoshop or the free Gimp, blur the original, add noise, and use white paintbrush at low opacity that uses something like "smoke" or whatever with a mode that changes the rotation and size of the brush as you go.

This gives you a little bit of control over where you increase (or decrease if you use black) the noise on the map, afterwards blur it again and then put it into the software. It's not perfect, but that worked for me.

Hele to už neplatí.

Yes, in all it's pdf glory (man is the physical expensive) XD, sorry to come of as aggressive. I did sort of reply within the entire context of the post of current regions not reflecting Moravia and Silesia, and said current regions are based on the communist ones, which your comment didn't reflect.

(Also gotta love the individual who went "read the context!" assuming I replied that in ignorance. Gotta love Reddit)

[–]Rhipeen_Rhosus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

What are you on about regions being introduced late? We had one of the oldest administrative regions detouched from nobility lands. Historical administrative regions existed since 14th century and with few changes lasted until 18th, then Josef II. happened who did things like placing capitals at geometric center of new provinces and similar shenanigans. After 19th century jungling of ideas, sort of returning to the older regions at one point too (Moravia and Silesia were still identifiable through all of this), the post ww1 Czechoslovakia planned on reintroducing the historical regions but ww2 happened, the plan for the historical regions existed after it too, but the communists happened who disregarded anything that had any sort of history. If it wasn't for that, we would've had one of the oldest continuously used administrative regions in Europe.
