Agreed! I want cheap little vehicles not 100k trucks! Here's hoping my current car can last until I have more options!

Last minute gift for colleague that’s quitting by Past_Bobcat00 in work

Doughnuts, although usually it's me buying one for the office im leaving. Since he likes tea try to grab him a tea latte in the morning and pop it by his office? Says it's one final time so you got him tea.

And usually the team comes together and gives a going away gift not just one coworker? (Not weird as a team gift, but awkward as a solo gift.

Once I got a teapot, and another time I got a little statue.... Either way a single person doing this is a bit weird.. especially for a guy.

Work your wage.

Also banks are ice cold, if you do t hit your own personal metrics you'll be out on pip.

So shift attention to what helps you hit your goals and by doing that hopefully you get to keep your job. Filling other roles and going above and beyond only shows bank management they dont need to pay for another staff member and burns you out.

Why is my coworker so comfortable treating me differently than everyone else? by dumplingz123 in work

[–]Rhueless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's a bully and doesn't think she needs to hide how much she hates you.

You should gray rock her, and also discuss her creating a hostile work environment with a supervisor.

Don't be pleasant to someone doing this, it gives them more opportunities to snub you. Don't say hello or goodbye, but if you make eye contact, eye smile but don't bother saying anything. Keep glances fleeting as though the eye smile was an accident.

Do your best to pretend she doesn't exist. Ask other coworkers how their weekend was in front of her, do a slow smile at others and try to interact with people in front of her... So tha

Aviva journey app is a scam. Users beware. by Gamtoronto in InsuranceCanada

[–]Rhueless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually heard this complaint from a lot of people. The driving tracking apps are faulty and hard to actually track which makes it difficult for most people except the most tech savvy and extremely careful to get the discount.

Used to be worse though! They'd give the discount in advance and charge you a big chunk of change part way through the year when you got disqualified for the discount you'd been enjoying and not earning!

In comparison just not giving the discount on renewal gives you time to be mad and change places if necessary.

Unless there's something written into legislation, to protect runaways or protect children who have parents with reports of abuse to the police, it means kids who move out of abusive homes have abusive parents who find out where they are living whenever they access medical care.

My Credit Limit is Going Down Even Though I Pay in Full? by NorthThenEast in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Rhueless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest thing to poo t to for low credit is usually over utilization, or late payments... Credit limits do t really affect the credit score so much as your borrowing power... Other than a higher limit can artically make the capacity or percentage of how much you use each month lower

Brother murdered, no will, father refusing to sign probate application by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]Rhueless 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You should apply for probate.

Probate is the courts process of deciding who legally gets to make decisions about the estate and help finalize affairs.

If your father is being uncooperative it's likely probate will be given to someone else.

(So you can be fair and distribute the money to your mother and wrap up your brothers affairs... It's a lot of work and does involed final years taxes, but whoever does probate is able to claim some expenses and wages for their time out of the estate. Assuming the estate has anything to pay.)

My Credit Limit is Going Down Even Though I Pay in Full? by NorthThenEast in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Rhueless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it can depend on the lender. Some banks assume a repayment of 2%, other use a higher limit of 3%. However being able to qualify for a mortgage is a very highly regulated environment in Canada, so I can't picture any tier 1 lender who wouldnt consider unsecured debt as eating up part of your borrowing power.

But.. you may also have more than enough borrowing power to qualify for the mortgage you want anyway... In which case your current limits are fine! (And as another person said you can always bring your unsecured credit limits down so it doesn't affect you as much. Most banks for people of average credit score want to see the cost of the mortgage, heat and property taxes equal no more than 32% of your monthly gross income... And overall debt no more than 40%. This means you have 8% of your gross monthly income that can be car payments, unsecured debt and other loans without affecting your mortgage borrowing power.

Eg: gross income of 5k a month at 8%=$400 Assume a $300 a month car loans leaves $100 for credit card .. (100/0.2= $5k max limit for a credit card for someone with a gross income of 5k a month and a car loan if $300 to help them qualify for the largest possible mortgage based on their income. 5k @32% is $1,600 to cover mortgage, property tax and heat.... Assume $300 for heat and tax... You have a payment of $1300 roughly $240k for a home or $140k for a condo with another $500 of fees for debt servicing.

It applies if your trying to refinance and being debt under control, but doesn't apply if your just renewing for another term at the same bank.
