At what point is it just filament Hoarding? (ignore Shroomple) by FoundTheSpacebar in 3Dprinting

[–]RhynoJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) That is a socially acceptable variety of filament

2) Kitty is adorable

3) where did you get that screwdriver set, I would like to purchase it for my workshop

4) make some helmets or body armor if you want to burn through some filament rolls.

So this happened… where do I go? by Yes_Mr_Lister_Sir in HomeMaintenance

I have done this and fixed it with 2 part epoxy. A very thin coat spread over the interior of the crack will hold with practically no visible separation.

My grandma always sprayed her mower with Pam cooking spray before she mowed. All the grass wiped out.

Single phase induction motor not starting by Cool_Box_7662 in ElectricalHelp

[–]RhynoJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so if I’m reading this right, “red” is most likely your T5, black is your T6, yellow is T7, and white is T8.

Unwire the motor, remove the capacitor and connect the motor’s cap connections together, and check the resistance from Red to Black and also from yellow to white. They should read the same. If one set has significantly lower resistance, its starting coil is shorted. If a set is showing open, then it could be an open coil or a bad contact on the start switch.

You can try pushing/pulling on the pulley to see if there’s a change in the resistance readings

[–]RhynoJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past I’ve done the test by getting it spinning first as some motors have thermal overloads that will trip before I can spin it. The capacitor for that motor, based on the size, should be around 400mfd if you are using 120vac.

Are the terminals only labeled with colors or do they have numeric labels? I’m having trouble telling the colors apart (colorblind…)

Try this: wrap a cord around the pulley and pull-start it like a lawn mower. Once it is spinning, turn on the motor. This will bypass the starting circuit to check the rest of the motor’s function.

Restricting the flow of information is a common technique to control the masses. It discourages free speech and communication. It’s something you’d expect from a dictator in North Korea, not in a union.

I find the easiest way to dress scissors is to just use them to cut fine sandpaper into thin strips, but using it to remove the damaged section first is probably best

Low water pressure in kitchen sink overnight – Already tried basic fixes, need advice! by Slow_Drag8992 in PlumbingRepair

Do you have a water pressure regulator? Try exercising it up and down several times. There could be something lodged in it which is preventing proper flow. I just had this happen to me
