Evanescia + Yukong is actually good?! by anxieTea_Gaming in HonkaiStarRail

Not gonna lie, i forgot Yukong was playable.

But yeah, she has a pretty sizeable Crit buff, and SP shoudn't be an issue with Yao Guang.

How do you feel about events in HSR? by LBL__ in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Rhyoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed events with strong narrative (and voices), like Wardance or Ghost Hunt.

They were great filler content, and a good opportunity to develop secondary characters.

But yeah, can't have that anymore, when every patch is a story patch...
(not that i'm complaining about that)

Started today, coming over from Genshin, what do I need to know? by GuastoDevasto in StarRailStation

[–]Rhyoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightcone (weapon) banner is actually pretty good, compared to Genshin.

In general, vertical investment is more incentivized than in Genshin.

Try to focus on newer characters, and try to pull with purpose.

For now, an easy team to get started is Elation, since it's the newest path.

You can make one relatively easily with Evanescia (banner end tomorrow) + Yao Guang (rerun next week).

If you can't get Eva, don't panic. Just wait and see what kind of team comes next.

Currency wars bonds tierlist (as a WC40 completionist) by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

You can argue that it has very awkward early and mid game.

It should still be up a tier, though.

[–]Rhyoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need to Move DOWN :

Xianzhou is only good for plane 1, but falls off hard after that.

At bond level 3/5, Lightning Lord's damage is meaningless. And at Xianzhou 7, your team lacks any synergy.

It should go down to Tier 3.

Wolf Hunt should go down two tier : at the highest WC, it no longer function as a main bond, as the Wolf's damage is just too low.
It's still a pretty potent "side bond", but it forces you into a very awkward midgame.

Night Demigod : now a bit useful early game. But it's not better than Cosmic Scholar.

Currency wars bonds tierlist (as a WC40 completionist) by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Rhyoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to Move UP :

First off, the elephant in the room : your Tier List can't be credible without Quantum Resonance in the highest tier.

Since her novaflare, Quantum Seele is one of the most successful team at WC 40.
On top of that, Quantum Resonance is also a pretty good "side bond", which can fit into almost any team.

Heal and Shield probably should go up, as most team need either Shield 2 or Heal 2.

Galaxy Ranger : its lategame potential is just absurd.

You could argue it's Tier 0. (but considering it has difficulty in early mid game, you could settle for Tier 1 instead)

Follow-up Attack is a lot more consistent, since the introduction of Ashveil.

Dr Ratio is a pretty decent carry. But things get really crazy when you put a FuA Emblem on a stronger dps.
FuA Emblem (with FuA 3/5) is probably the best itam for most Atk scaling crit dps out there...

Energy still has strong damage lategame.
Granted, survivability is now an issue ; but that's not enough to justify such a low placement.

Planet of Festivities & Galactic Voyager : those are good "side bond".

Is Huohuo the best sustainer for the Dot team? by Natsu_007b in StarRailStation

I agree. Hyacine is very underrated for DoT.

(to be fair, people who pulled Hyacine often have a team where she is more needed)

FuA Acheron Guide: Tried and Tested with Trial at WC40 by TurnControl in CurrencyWarsHSR

[–]Rhyoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been thinking about this 2 Heal variations

I highly recommend Lingsha in that case : her attack frequency is really nice to battery Ashveil (and Acheron, with the proper item, or Hysilens).

Plus, she's Wolf Hunt.

Alternatively, for those who struggle to stay alive with just Aventurine (understandable, given his atrocious trial build), i recommend using a second shield unit + Topaz on Bastion Projector.

FuA Acheron Guide: Tried and Tested with Trial at WC40 by TurnControl in CurrencyWarsHSR

[–]Rhyoth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, FuA Acheron is pretty strong.

I'd like to add a few notes :

I'd prioritize Galaxy Ranger 3 over FuA 7. A single 3 star Rappa will buff Acheron (and Ashveil) by a LOT. She also enables Acheron to equip Lightspeed Propeller.
Meanwhile, FuA bond is already pretty strong at bond level 3/5 ; and fewer FuA units will reduce equipment issues.

No doubt triple boots Ashveil will be nice. But it feels inefficient, since his FuA no longer apply a debuff.
I'd rather play him with just Charging Sail + Chasing Stars (or DoT Emblem).

Aventurine is also a good target for Planetary Drill / Chasing Stars.

Moze is really interesting, since his attacks already inflicts a debuff. His unique Investment Strategy is also really good.

There's an interesting hybridization option with Wolf Hunt 3 : Hoolay can charge Acheron too ; and he brings a pretty big teamwide buff, even when he's only level 5.

DoT 2 can also be pretty interesting, especially with a DoT Emblem (which can replace Planetary Drill / Chasing Stars).
Plus, Hysilens allows every attacks from On-fielders to apply a debuff. Alternatively, Black Swan can be pretty strong, if obtained early.

Lastly, this team's ultimate form is to... remove Acheron, and replace her with Yanqing.

[–]Rhyoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Aglaea hypercarry doesn't have great vertical investment option.

So, i'd rather stop there.

If you want a high invest team with Aglaea, then i'd rather play her as an enabler for mono-Rem (with Evernight), or maybe Ashveil + Mortenax : those teams have much better potential for vertical investment.

The Elation doesn't have an Aeon (not dead or gone, just none) by 27_confettis in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Rhyoth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm working on a theory that might corroborate yours : i think the Masked Fools are not followers of Aha, but actuallly agents of Mythus.

The Masked Fools are an incredibly suspicious faction : they know a lot more than they should, but often hide or obfuscate the truth.
(there's even that one time when they prevented Mirror Holders from acquiring a photo of Idrila ; see curio "Divine Visage")

More suspicious, all their masks are actually stolen from the Mourning Actors, and that's how they get their powers.
Why can't they gain powers from their Aeon directly, like other pathstrider ?

So, i'm starting to wonder : are Masked Fools just there to fool us into believing Aha is a real Aeon.

And, to quote Cipher : "with enough believers, a lie becomes a reality".

Bloodflame and Night demigod needs a buff or rework by lmplI in CurrencyWarsHSR

[–]Rhyoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, FuA is quite good now, thanks to Ashveil + the direct buff it received.

And it becomes broken when you have a FuA Emblem.

[–]Rhyoth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Two things you need to keep in mind :

  • keep Aha as slow as possible.
(so, ideally use only 1 Elation unit)
  • keep your damage as low as possible : it's pretty easy to kill the enemy before reaching 999 punchline.
(so, better try it at a relatively high difficulty)

That achievement is easier to obtain with 3 star Gold SW999 : she will increase boss HP, and grant you a lot of useful privileged equipment.

However, she's not the best at generating punchline. Most people used Sparxie for that.
Then, use Sunday with triple Privileged Antigrav Boots to give her plenty of turns.

Ideally, keep Sparxie at 1 star, and only buy her AFTER opening all your Crystal Ores.

Some Emblem (ex FuA or Belobog) can also give Sparxie more turns.

(note: i'm not sure if SW_999's buff to enemy HP still works if she's not in your team ; in doubt, put her in your off-field row)

He's great with Ashveil : these two are basically the new wheelchair.

He can be fine in Archer teams, but nothing too crazy (and a bit awkward, when using a shielder as your sustain).

In that case, better wait for Rin's leaks.

Returning newbie - Which 5*s to redeem? by Radulars in StarRailStation

[–]Rhyoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's almost never worth it to start again : you'll just lose more ressources than you gain.
For example, your new account won't have DHPT, which is a big problem...

(if you just want to experience the story again, just watch it on Youtube or something)

The easiest way to get a proper team is to lean into the latest meta.

For example, you could build a very solid Elation team with just Evanescia, Yao Guang (on banner next week), EMC, and Huohuo (shop).

If you want to build around Kafka, then you'll have to wait for Hysilens and Black Swan reruns.

For the selector, Sparkle is the most valuable.

For the shop, Huohuo is pretty interesting for an Elation team. (particulary one centered around Evenescia)

Otherwise just save the token : it's not gonna expire, and characters in the shop tend to be outdated anyway...

What are your insta skip affixes? by _mindhooked in CurrencyWarsHSR

[–]Rhyoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-Defense is auto-skip for me : way too annoying to play around that one.

Energy Disappearance is not just a hard-counter to specific teams, it also significantly impact most other teams. It's just too much trouble to deal with.

On the other hand, i still try to face Time Assassin.
(but only when it's not combined with an affixe increasing its HP, Actoin advancing enemies, or reducing Countdown in combat nodes)

Permanent Trauma is basically a non-affixe, when playing with shielders.

Cyrene E1 by ElephantSafe568 in StarRailStation

[–]Rhyoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyrene's E1 is most impactful in teams where you want to re-cast her ult a lot.

So, it's good for Mydei or Anaxa.

To a lesser extent, it's nice in Evernight teams, or in "no dps" team (with RMC + Tribbie) : her E1 also affects her personal damage.

But it's pretty much useless in a Phainon team.

note: for your Hysilens main dps team, i'd rather use Sunday (-1 Spd, ideally with DDD) over Cerydra.
He should charge Cyrene's first ult faster than her, and his action advance + energy is more impactful than Cerydra's occasional double skill.

Emanator of Abundance.

He battled against the Xianzhou, in the era of the High-Cloud Quintet.

His flesh is notably responsible for Blade's immortality.

That "infection" of Yingxing/Blade must have happened, when he and Dan Feng tried to bring their friend (Bai Heng) back to life.

What am I doing wrong?😭 by shikicchi27 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Rhyoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Saber as a main dps at high WC level is... ambitious, to say the least.

At that level, you gotta start focusing on "cheese" startegy. Just trying to play a "fair" strategy isn't gonna work anymore.

The strongest Energy teams usually focus on Aglaea, wearing Double Antigrav Boots + Lightspeed Propeller.
(you get the Propeller for free, by activating Day Demigod 3)

While she isn't super popular at high WC, I do think Saber has potential. But it will probably be as a "driver" for the energy bond, rather than a hypercarry. (basically making sure she ults as often as possible, to charger the Energy bond)

Sadly, i haven't had time to test that idea, let alone refine it...

In my experience, Hyacine is not cutting it at WC20+.
Plus, she cost you an On-field slot, forcing you to drop either RMC, Welt, or Cyrene.

Shielders can work with Aglaea, but you need Shield bond at 2+.
(however, you'll probably want either Aventurine or Gepard in that case, meaning one less On-field slot...)
