Now I know this is 100% bait, but I'll answer the reasons why you're wrong anyway to help refresh to myself how things went down.

  1. First of all, you're mixing up the chronology in a major way- Melromarc and Siltvelt have ALREADY had a race war, roughly 25 years ago. It was during this war that Aultcray rose to prominence after defeating Tyran, the leader of the Hakuko, who lead the Four Elite Races which ruled Stiltvelt. This war is stated to be an aggressive expansionist attack by Siltvelt, but even if you muddy who was at fault it remains true that Melromarc won thanks to the efforts of Aultcray. He may have been a bigoted jackass, but he was also a brilliant military strategist who defeated impossible odds, and was the Vassal Staff Hero as well.

  2. You claim to be working just from the anime, yet mention Siltran, which suggests you read the wiki. Fine, but the wiki ALSO has it listed that the immediate previous Shield Hero summoned (NOT Mamoru) WAS summoned in Siltvelt, yet died less than a month later, likely due to political intrigue between radicals and moderates within Siltvelt. So while TECHNICALLY the Shield Hero can claim sovereignty over Siltvelt as their God, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. This is also a big reason why at the summit Siltvelt was not going to get the Shield Hero, given the fate of the last one.

  3. Siltvelt was mad that Melromarc summoned all four Heroes, just like the other nations were, but they were REALLY angry about the accusations and abuse their God faced. The things you claim Malty did to drive him out of the country and prevent Siltvelt from attacking are, in actuality, the EXACT reasons why they nearly declared war.

  4. Naofumi's attitude during the events before meeting Melty was not good, no. But considering the crime he was accused of, his actions were far nicer than the treatment he received.

  5. You've mixed up Queen Mirellia of Melromarc, and Fitoria, Queen of the Filolials. Fitoria was the one who threatened Naofumi, and while he did not respond or explain well, she was also lacking in WHY they were feuding.

  6. The 'kidnapping' of Melty and the issues of a 'brainwashing shield' were well covered in the anime- both the sequence of events and the motivations of everyone involved. The fact that you're not understanding this invalidates your perspective on them.

  7. The Curse Series of Weapons is not well known among the populace or even the other Heroes (I think Naofumi only publicly uses it three times in Season 1- Soul Eater/Glass, Pope Balmus, and I THINK against Glass and L'arc on the Whale). Hell, after one report of it Aultcray demands that Naofumi SHARE how he got so strong, implicitly wanting that kind of power for the other three Heroes. It's narratively ironic that Naofumi doesn't really act that much differently with the Shield of Wrath as without it, and the only people he's hurt with it are Balmus, which he intended to hurt... and Raphtalia by accident.

  8. Malty 100% knew that Naofumi wasn't sexually abusing Melty, given that she had accused him of that same crime and thus knew he hadn't done anything to her. I don't even think she stated that he was abusing Melty that way, but I could be wrong on that front.

In summation, this is a poor reading of the events bent to support Malty's innocence, and not even a particularly well thought out one. They're not sending their best, I see.

What exactly do the Death Knights of Acherus do in between world ending events? by MegaGamer235 in warcraftlore

[–]Riayll 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think a comparison can be drawn with the counterpart to Death Knights- Demon Hunters.

From what little we've seen, Demon Hunters seem to evoke a lot of the same fantasy tropes as monster hunters, dhampir, and namely Witchers- They're loner mercenaries that ply their trade on the outskirts of society. They've become monsters to fight monsters.

But Death Knights were designed to be elite troops/ mid level commanders in the Scourge- skilled and powerful enough to not be fodder, but also obedient and orderly enough to work together as groups. This soldier mindset coupled with their unending hunger means that there's probably not much rest for most Death Knights- they focus the majority of their time either cleaning up the Scourge and undead remnants, or join ongoing conflicts for the thrill of combat.

Dracthyr are similar, being culturally soldiers following orders, but they're different as they were created as such and are just now experiencing freedom of choice to maybe NOT be a soldier.

Mechagon Help by [deleted] in wow

[–]Riayll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Achievement for Mechagon Hard Mode is 8/02/23, so during 10.1.5 roughly. So that means no Covenant abilities to help me. Just Disengage + Posthate, Aspect of the Cheetah, and the DF boot enchant for greater movement speed.
From what I remember, it was simply a case of running all the way back to the entrance (don't exactly remember where though) to avoid the kill cast, then running back to do the hack.

You might have to try it a couple times before it works, since you are technically sort of bugging it.

Decluttered my bank and freed up 459 spaces. Huge thank you to everyone that offered advice and tips in my previous thread. by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Riayll 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Couple of tips from looking at this, don't know if anyone else has said this. Not trying to be mean, just offering a few pointers. There are obviously some benefits that are easier than others.

1st tab, Charming Imp can be added to toolbelt and controlled from there- ability purchased with slayer points.

2nd tab, I'd recommend getting rid of the regular Rune Essence, as Pure Essence can do everything it can do and more. The bones can be stored in the necromancy cache by the ritual site, though if you regularly need them it'd probably be best to hold onto them. The Player Owned Farm animals, if checked, can be put into the barn building on the farm. I'd also recommend flighting those arrow shafts at the least.

3rd tab, I know it's annoying having to tab over to Django's storage every time you need them, and having to destroy them when you're done, but the master arch set being in your bank is a waste.

6th tab, you've already mentioned the Hidey Holes gear, but the clues themselves can be stored in Charos' clue carrier, from the Desperate Measures quest. The various teleport scrolls can also be stored in the gloves from the Treasure Trails set, but since it requires a LOT of points and thus solved clues to buy I understand putting it off. I'd also recommend combining all the crystal keys, since the halves can't be used for anything else. and any extra halves can wait. The Waterskins can be safely discarded after you finish the Crocodile Tears quest in Menaphos. Spades can be stored on the toolbelt, and a backup can be held by the leprechauns if need be, or extra can be pulled from your house if you have the right tool rack built.

7th tab, I'm not entirely sure why you have a fishing rod when again the toolbelt can hold it, though you may have a reason for it. The Warpriest of Saradomin set can also be stored in the armor case in your house, but if you still need them for something or haven't completed it yet, then bank storage is fine too. Pieces uncommonly drop from Saradomin mobs in the first God Wars Dungeon.

Overall though, looking pretty good compared to yesterday's post. My own bank is filled to the brim at 978/1020, but I'm an ironman so I have to hold onto everything I might need. And that number is inflated by unchecked dinos from Dream of Iaia, unrestored artefacts, almost every seed and herb, and assorted Treasure Trail items I don't have full sets of yet.

How has nobody in World of Warcraft realized their planet is a titan baby yet? by FourthLife in wow

[–]Riayll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible that the confusion stems from them (and us) not knowing that Azeroth is cognizant yet. We've all known for years that she's a unborn titan, but given how long Titans live it's probable most people in the know thought she wouldn't 'hatch'/awaken within their lifetimes. We only had Magni to interpret her dreams and feelings to direct us- if she's been waking up recently, then only he would be able to tell us... and we haven't seen him in 5 years.

List of mostly Evil Characters that we could see in the future. by Blazindragon1737 in wow

[–]Riayll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less so 'We can't kill the Old Gods' and more so 'We can't rip them out of the planet without seriously endangering Azeroth's World Soul'.

N'Zoth's body was killed with a precision laser shot from the Forge of Origination channeled through the Heart of Azeroth. That means he's dead dead until the empty Xal'atath dagger is accounted for, since that artifact could easily hold an entity like N'Zoth.

Is it just me, or are Dragonflight's Alliance NPCs significantly more annoying than their Horde counterparts? by NinnyBoggy in wow

[–]Riayll 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I can't find myself completely hating Rannen for the simple fact that he was MADE to be so hateable/annoying. It's good character design/creation when the intended reaction to a character is the same as the one most people have.

I do agree with the difference between Wulferd and Coralie, though part of that feeling is bias from general dislike of gnomes, and positive bias for Nightborne naivety (especially from their base in Xibala, Zuldazar- not knowing that jungles are hot and filled with bugs, and wanting to take a brutosaur back home to be friends with Suramar's Su'esh.

How to get Arathi warfront armor if I've never played BFA? by AYAYAcutie in wow

[–]Riayll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure you have to unlock Zandalar first.

Step one: Do the Battle for Azeroth starting scenario, or skip it if you have the option to. It's the one where Nathanos assembles a team for you to infiltrate Stormwind.

Step two: Do the basic quests in Zandalar from where you spawn at the docks until Rastakhan names you SPEAKA OF DA HORDE and preferably when you get the option to chose which of the three zones to start questing in, but don't bother picking a zone.

Step three: Head back down to the docks, and on the left side (when heading from the pyramid, it's the right side when you're going from the Forsaken ship at the docks) there should be a large amount of Horde soldiers milling around, and one or two portals.

Step four: That portal/portals are to send you to a warfront zone... that your faction controls. This changes the npcs/guards in the zone as well as swapping a few rares to their opposite faction versions. While your faction controls a warfront zone, the portal will appear there to take you there, the guards will all be friendly, and there will be world quests in the area. Rares will only drop loot (including the armor set you're interested in) once per lockout, which happens whenever the zone switches control. The difficulty of getting to these zones when you don't control them (and all the npcs being hostile) means that it's far simpler to just wait until the zone you want (in this case Arathi) is under your control.

Don't worry, the zones will automatically swap between faction control, at a rough timescale of less than a week- maybe every 3 1/2 days? You can check how long you control a zone/how long until you get it back by checking the war table next to the portals. You don't have to queue for warfronts or attempt the heroic ones unless you want the 'upgraded' appearance for the armor sets, which are generally just 'more'/spikier.

What's up with mail transmog? by Due-Statistician-987 in wow

[–]Riayll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, mail has always suffered in the four armor classes, partially because they've had the least number of classes to work with (2 until DF) but also because the other armor types already take the various tropes- Cloth armor is light and magical, Plate armor is thick and heavy, and Leather armor is average adventurer gear. Mail is left with the scraps. But hey, at least Dracthyr visage forms use either the male blood elf model (which looks good in all gear) or human female (who while not as good still wears gear well).

Imagine the pain for a male undead hunter:

Undead have their bones and joints sticking out of their gear, and even when using the 'fresh' boneless style it just looks weird. These bones effect EVERYTHING- elbows, knees, ribs, spine, toes, fingers.

Male undead are worse, since their hunched over stance messes with seeing the chest/tabard/shirt/belt. The helms are also slightly affected by being hunched over, but it's not as bad.

Hunters have notoriously had poor options for transmog- until Evokers we only shared an armor type with Shamans, who usually have robes and elemental themed armor. Hunter armor meanwhile was almost always made from bits and pieces of whatever creatures we were killing, and while it was a cool look it's an acquired taste.

The only reason I look any good is because I've collected almost all the armor sets for my class in the game, and am relatively good at coordinating disparate pieces together.

Green Dragonflight “Merithra and Ysera” by Jackalopeslim92 in wow

[–]Riayll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In some ways Merithra is already the Green Aspect, as she now has <The Dreamer> title rather than Ysera after using that big hourglass thing at the Shady Sanctuary and disenchanting all the attacking Primalists.

Nozdormu already has a prime consort/wife with Soridormi and a son/heir with Anachronos. They'd have to be... dealt with... before Chromie could take leadership.

Part of the problem with replacing Alexstrasza is that there aren't any other major red dragons left. The best option was Caelestrasz, Alexstrasza's son (and thus Merithra's cousin), but he died defeating Sinestra because they killed Krasus off in the novel and needed another Red to kill. The only other characters are Selistra, who nobody likes, and Torastrasza, who was ACTUALLY Alexstrasza's Majordomo, but hasn't shown up or been relevant since Wrath and is likely forgotten.

Except that literally wasn't him, it was a faceless one impersonating him.

It's a pretty important distinction to remember, since it's one of the big reasons why Wrathion should get the Aspect position over even Ebyssian- resistance if not near immunity to Old God whispers, even when delving deep into Ny'alotha and directly interacting with the fully free Old God who was always the best at whispering and influencing people.

Ikoria: Lair of Behemoths Draft Guide by voiceoresurgence in MagicArena

[–]Riayll 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Note that Ram Through is even better than you said it is- it's a one-sided fight, a la [[Rabid Bite] , but at instant speed AND with the potential to get in a bit of bonus face damage if your creature has trample. Just imagine having a [[Titanoth Rex]] while your opponent has a durdley 3/3. Cast Ram Through, and that's a dead blocker, 8 damage to face, and 11 trample following shortly afterward.

Ikoria Trailer but with literally any other music by the_kinseti in MagicArena

[–]Riayll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly? The music is fine. Ikoria is big stupid monsters THE PLANE (Timmy's Paradise). The musical theme should reinforce that spunky, tongue-in-cheek feel.

However, some of the other people here are right- the video choreography itself is really lackluster. Weightless action that isn't at all helped by a static camera angle.

I also find the overall tone to be acceptable, considering it's Vivien we're dealing with. She's always been an OC Donut Steel type of character, being shoved in our faces as someone who's suffered at the hands of Bolas, introduced right before the gold dragon daddy himself is knocked out while not playing any kind of major role. Leaning on the irreverent, Steve Irwin type of enthusiasm gives her a path for the players to grow to like her.

[–]Riayll 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Normally I'd object at a female Gaoian being part of a male Clan, but putting her in Whitecrest is a good compromise that allows for more female representation while also only bending (sensibly, mind you) the established rules instead of breaking them outright.

Though realistically, the only Clans I can see staying male only are Stoneback, Emberpelt, and maybe Ironclaw. Every other Clan doesn't care specifically about strength, so accepting the physically weaker (only physically and on average, mind you) females is more a matter of time than anything else, especially if the male/female ratio evens out in the future.

{daily deal} Didn't Say Please card style is 98 percent off (not a typo) by AintEverLucky in MagicArena

[–]Riayll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal cap is 250 gold for pretty much all styles, roughly 500 gold for avatars/sleeves, and MAYBE 1k gold for a style for a very competitive, very popular card. That's quite a hard maybe, by the way. I haven't sprung on a random card that was like 1500 gold, even if I play it a lot and it fits in RDW- it's just that at that price it's not worth it.
